"When Ashai Revali finds herself as a bard’s unknowing new muse, it’s not exactly the romantic ballad a Javarkan princess would dream of. The words paint a twisted image of her half-Hollo heritage—a cursed race with an affinity for Blight magic. Her mother’s homeland, The Pact, is said to be infested with monsters and scorned by their gods. The Javarkan Empire has come to despise their occult neighbors and regard those who wish to cross the border with suspicion.

Such suspicion falls on the disgraced elven noble, Cas Filvar, when he finds himself in the company of Kipcha, a Hollo woman of unknown origins. Some question if she has faltered his allegiance to the Empire, while others argue such allegiance never existed.

Just three more souls lost to The Decay."
