And more importantly, what's us to the Rawhide Bushido Subscribers. As I had mentioned in my last wall post, I was going to be doing new sketches or sketch cards every month for current subscribers, and all new subscribers as they come aboard. I feel it's only fair if all current subscribers get the same as all new subscribers. If you think you might have missed a post of new art, message me, (TBOT), and I will send a copy to your wall!!! So this month, July 2015, I have a sketch card which was actually a sketch card from our comic con tours last year. We blew out of these bad boys at every show, I think the last tally was something like 10, 000 of these little 3 & 3/4" X 2 & 3/4" cards. INSANE!! Anyway, this is long out of print, and now in your hands. Thanks again to everyone for subscribing, and we are at 98 Subscribers, I'll do a nice sketch (brand new) when we reach 100!!! Rock ON All!!!!!
Thanks again for hanging in there everyone. We will be posting this week for sure, and for the weeks to come, just trying to catch up on colors. That being said, I have also been hitting the drawing table hard with roughs and concepts for future episodes of 'RAWHIDE BUSHIDO'. Here's a preliminary concept for a character who our swordslinger will meet in the pages to come. This was a warm up, but then I liked how it was turning out, and I needed a design for a character currently in the scripts which had not been designed yet, so hey, kill two birds with one stone right? I generally know how each character looks as I am writing them, then when I get to the page I lay down the general information I had in my brain, then leave it to the page for the fun surprises that always arrive while working on a page, and working in the creative flow. I don't like having completely laid out plans, cause things always evolve during the process, so leaving room for creativity keeps it fun and fresh!!! Thanks to all of you for reading RAWHIDE, and we have lots more to go!!!! Also, 91 Subscribers!!! That's huge, and only a handful of months, Let's make it 100!!! Thanks to all of you for checking out RAWHIDE BUSHIDO, and HUGE thanks for subscribing!! I will be doing a new pin up style sketch a month, and will send it out to all of you who subscribe, for your eyes only!!!!
Just doing some sharing. Ripped up a tight rough of the Swordsman from Rawhide Bushido which will only be available to supporters once the program launches, simply for YOUR Support!!! The sample below is a focused image, and a small portion of the actual drawing. Finishing off the pencils right now, and lettering some future pages at the same time. Ahhhh the fun of multitasking in a small press comic co. Putting the finishing touches on our new posting formats (for better viewing on your devices) then we will be back to, it looks like Fridays, with the odd Sunday like today, our regular posting schedule. Happy Sunday Enjoy!!
I really don't post blog type ramblings, but I thought, hey, why not give it a try. I think putting yourself out there is a good thing even if it's only your mom reading it. I am TBOT, head artist and Chief Creative Director at Crossfire Comics. I have been doing comics for as long as I can remember. It has been great to be a part of such a fascinating industry, and meet so many fascinating people. And what better way to meet new people than the amazing Tapastic community. It truly has been great to join and be a part of such a positive environment for creators. Sometimes working away alone in your studio all hours of the night (and day)with nothing but your created worlds to interact with makes you just want to reach out and speak to real humans. Anyway, I won't bore you too much with the desolation of the comic artist. Just throwing up some sketch action for y'all to check out I found digging through our old files. It was one of the first concepts for Rawhide Bushido a few years back now. Working on some really cool changes for the 'Rawhide', and can't wait for our next post to try out the new format. If you want to check out other Crossfire books, for now you can grab them on COMIXOLOGY, look for 'The Asteroid Comics Magazine' to see other titles we have to offer. I currently do the art on all of them, but there is a new artist rising up in our ranks, so stay tuned. We will more than likely start posting other titles on here soon, and as soon as our rebooted web site is done, you can see anything and everything there, and like always check us out on face book https://www.facebook.com/CrossfireComicsInc. Listen to us regularly on the Comics Podcast 'BOOKED' on theleagueofmanchildren.com.
Hey TBOT, really dig what you've got up so far. It's a really cool blend of genres, and the art is really energetic. Can't wait to see more. Glad you like what I'm doing as well.
