Fly-over country, Christian artist. Unapologetic retrophile, spookophile, classic Country Western fan and fantasy enthusiast. Probably has garbage taste.
Filler art for my comic. I'm going to be visiting family in the last half of December, so I won't be updating it until the beginning of January.
It's of Giles and a giant. Since giants live in a tundra environment, I figured it was appropriate for winter. For reference, Giles is 7'4"- so you can tell how big Giants are.
The canyon in the background is visually based on basalt columns- which you should totally look up on Google. They're crazy weird and it's amazing how such an alien-looking landscape can develop on Earth.
Hey! I know it's been a loooonnng time, but I've started my new fantasy comic called "Giles Gridley". I'm going to start posting an update for it every Wednesday and Friday.
Hey everyone! I'm still working on re-booting this comic. I haven't abandoned it at all. It's just been taking a little while since I'm trying to get a good amount of pages done, as well as the fact that I just got a new job. Anyway, here's some little snippets to give you a preview of coming distractions.
So, as I had mentioned, since it took so long for issue 4 to get up and running, I am going to be opening a request slot that will last from now until Monday (tomorrow) at 12:00 AM. For a request, just post down below-
Two rules-
1.) One request per person.
2.) Please keep content PG in nature.
Requests will probably be done in black and white.
Finally getting issue 4 up. Like I said- I've been pretty busy with working on portfolio work, so it's been a little slow getting issue 4 up and running.
In other news- I got my first comic review that can be read here-
AND IN ANOTHER ADDITION- To make up for Issue 4 taking so long, I'm going to open up another request slot this weekend. I'll let you know when it's open, so keep on eye out!
Hey everyone! So, I'm involved in a collaborative comic called "Galaxy Girl" and currently we have a Kickstarter campaign going up right now. If you're interested in dark-humor and/or pulp sci-fi go on and check it out!
Great old paper textures in Wanderlust Blues title and pages! Do you use the "Multiply" or similar affect to achieve this? Is that available in Manga Studio? Or do use another program like Photoshop for that effect?
Thanks! The program I've been using to get the texture effect is GIMP (which is basically like the free-to-download knock-off of Photoshop). The program contains mostly similar overlay effects that Photoshop does, although there are some different overlay effects that are unique to each program. Unfortunately Manga Studio doesn't have the same overlay functions that Photoshop and GIMP do, or if it does- I haven't managed to find them yet. Hope that helps.
Yeah, GIMP is a great program. A computer lab that I worked at a few years back had GIMP on it. And it did have a lot of Photoshop stuff on it. I never used Manga Studio before, so I don't know what it has.
