Trying my best to become Australia's DISNEY!
Living in New York and currently working on my Graphic Novel BLUE and my Illustrated Novel PYRO. Check out my recent work on Instagram @shellzki
Hello! Sorry, I haven't posted any more pages of BLUE for a while, I have been working hard to put together an actual draft of the graphic novel to pitch it to Publishers! If you're a real fan of the story and are curious about how it's all going, it would be wonderful to have your support via following my journey through Instagram <3 @shellzki <3

I am thinking that I might stop posting the comics up onto tapas because I really want it to be a completed and perfected story, so it will be a beautiful reading experience for fans once they get their hands on the physical copy, (even thinking about how I might be able to integrate some pop up elements to the book hehe.)
I've been working on this project for so many years and I probably still need another 1 or so before it is all ready to share with you all, so it truly is a long journey, but I hope you will all see me through till the grand finally of this project! <3
I might use tapas to share some more life-related comics to do with my experience of moving from Perth Western Australia to New York City with my fresh fiance, but I'll just have to see if I can find the time for this!
Anyways, all my best to you in your own personal goals and artistic endeavors! <3 <3 <3
I know its been a while since I've uploaded new BLUE comics, but don't worry they are coming!
My personal life has been especially hectic this year which has gotten in the way of my comic making flow a bit. I moved to New York City with my fiance which has been a fun experience but not without its challenges of course!
I really love this story that I've been working on, and ultimately I want to see it professionally published before I turn 30 (I'm 24 atm haha). I want to be published by Fantagraphics which is really well known for publishing alternative and erotic graphic novels so I feel that Blue would be a great fit for that kind of content. I haven't sent anything out to any publishers yet, I keep putting it off because nothing is completed but I aim to work towards a draft of blue which will have all the comics ordered in a linear storyline, and to have the missing pages of the story either in a written form or only in its rough sketched format, so that the reviewer will be able to understand what the heck is going on haha.
I just wanted to give you a bit of an idea of where I am going with this, and to let you know that I deeply appreciate having you as a part of my audience for this story that I am trying to tell. It means a lot to me to see that the hours I spend thinking about this story, sitting at the computer and painstakingly working through the rough sketch layouts, clean line work and colour translates into something that you can enjoy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I'll keep you updated on any developments with my publishing ambitions!
Aw thanks so much for the lovely words of support Joanne! <3 Have you ever been through the publishing process with a Publishing company, or do you just keep to online publishing? I think Demon House would make such a great TV show idea, its such a fun concept! :D
I've only ever published online/self-publish! Years ago I did have dreams of submitting to a physical publisher, but was intimidated, so I've kept to myself since. xD
And thank you! I'm glad you think so!
Hi All! I HAVE ARISEN FROM THE DEAD, and am going to be uploading LOADS of Blue comics for weekly releases again! MASSIVE APOLOGY for being away for so long, life got so crazy for a while and I am now living in NEW YORK CITY! So lots of things have been going on, but I really want to get back into making these comics because I love the characters so much!
If anyone is a fan of my stuff and lives in NYC and would like to meet up for a tea/coffee/sketch session let me knooow! :D X)
Creating and storytelling is a massive chunk of who I am. Whether it be planning, inking or colouring a comic, drawing smaller pieces by hand, or making mixed media pieces, I almost produce art daily. I've got so many projects cramped in my head, it can be overwhelming, though lately I've been focusing mainly on Blue comics. If I don't create daily, I end up feeling awful, because I know I need to become a mean-green-comic-making-machine if I want to get all of my stories out before I die. And so in knowing how hard all of this comic making business can be, I just wanted to take a moment to show appreciation to all comic creators and the people that support them.
To fellow creators Congratulations on all that you've achieved so far. I'm sure the stories you make are filled with love and are the fruit of ridiculously long hours at the computer or at a table illustrating traditionally, all of the planning, editing and adding finishing details to perfect moments in time. It takes an incredible mental strength and passion to keep art and comics pumping out while juggling work and life, so please know that you're all freakin’ super troopers.
Creating art is one thing, distribution is a whole other ballpark. We live in a time where new content is constantly available to us, where the mass is difficult to compete with and makes it hard to find your audience. So to those who have liked, subscribed and even shared around these indie comics to friends, thank you dearly. It is an utter pleasure to be able to share something that you are so emotionally and time-wise invested in, with people who are interested in what your narratives are all about.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Creators keep Creatin' n' Subscribers keep lovin' we can feel it and it helps mountain-loads ^_^
BLUE is one of the best comics I've ever had the pleasure of reading ^-^! I love your way of storytelling and your artstyle is... goals. That's why I decided to "study" it -in a way- in order to improve my own style ^^; Meaning, I try to 'analyze' the way you draw facial features and then I try to recreate them without straight up copying them. I have so much to learn from you! *0*
WOW Just WOW... firstly, I am utterly flattered that you like my comics so much that you drew Blue <3 Secondly, these are fantastic studies! You're water colour skills are great, i especially like the way you've rendered out his cute nose and voluptuous lips hehe ;) - lovely textures too <3 Amazing work, I really look forward to reading comics made by you some day! ^_^ Also the fact that you are observing styles that you like is good, that's how I formed mine, just observing illos that you like and trying to break down why it's good/ apply it to your own work etc. Here are a few of the artists that I quite like the styles of: Daniel Clowes, Patrick Brown, The Sandman(comic illos), and Garth Ennis's work on the Preacher Comics. I watched anime shows in my childhood which is probably why I like to draw the characters with large bright eyes and over exaggerated expressions :) It's always fun to try and think of your influences haha! Feel free to shoot me Q's if you're ever curious about something i can help with ^_^ Anyways, I'm really glad you enjoy my comics and good luck with your art pursuits!
Thank you! It means a lot to me that you like this and that you're being so helpful ^v^ I'm glad to hear that's how you developed your own style - means I'm on the right path, thank god xP I've been watching anime and reading manga since the 6th grade (I'm 18 now) and I remember when I first started trying to develop a personal style I was reading FMA and so all of the humans I drew looked like FMA characters xD Then I started reading other manga too and realized there were many different ways of simplifying the human face and so my style got more balanced. The more content I discover and the more fanart I draw, the better my skills become. It's truly fascinating seeing the influence of every manga and comic I've ever read show up in my personal style (although only I can tell)!
