I promise I'm not dead! I haven't written anything here in almost a year and felt it was time to fix that. I've been focusing on my day job, but that doesn't mean I haven't stopped working on my comics.
I entered Eos, the science fantasy epic I'm working on, into a contest and reached the finals, and although I couldn't snag one of the top spots, I'm happy it got that far after being evaluated by a new, but fairly big publisher here in Norway.
The story, following several rounds of feedback and workshopping stands at about 190 pages. The picture I'm sharing with you is from the prologue, and while it's not the craziest of pages, I wanted to share at least something with you guys!
So to summarize: I'm not dead, still making comics, just taking my time with it!
I participated in yet another 24-hour comic marathon last weekend and seriously, why do I keep doing this to myself?
It doesn't get any easier, but if nothing else I can show you that I am indeed still alive and making comics.
You can expect it to release some time closer to Christmas while I wait for the physical version to release first. As per usual, it will be a part of the Tome of Tiny Tales.
Anyway, that is the update. I'm off to Japan for a three week holiday after just a ridiculous year of work. I'll probably update you on a release date for "Pernille & The Barbarian" once I'm back.
We're now only 1 day away from releasing the official Girl Genius video game! We're also back and forth from the top on popular upcoming games for steam which is super exciting! If you wishlisted the game, thank you so much!
I hope I'll be able to return to doing more comic stuff now that it's behind me, but it's not like I've got any shortage of things to do now that this is done!
Bergen, 11pm. Already sleep deprived I'm on my way to Oslo by night train. I'm in the sleeper car, but I only get about 3 hours in total. Great start to my 24 hour comic book marathon starting 8am the same morning.
I don't think I've ever been more destroyed following one of these 24 hour comic book marathons, but somehow I pulled through. That somehow being more energy drinks than anyone should ever put into their body over the course of 24 hours. When I reached the hotel after a much longer and steeper walk than I had anticipated I collapsed on the bed thinking "This. This is how people die."
Luckily I have recovered, and of course I'm not here to just post about my many self-inflicted pains brought upon by an equal amount of stupid decisions. It's to let you know that I will as per usual be sharing this story with you guys in the not too distant future.
Look forward to the release of "Gunk" on July 1st!
Our books arrived just in time for launch tomorrow! I'm very happy I've been making new covers for them - they look so good next to each other and in hardcover!
I haven't been very active on any webcomic platform recently, so here's a tiny update on what I've been up to!
I'm just about to release book 2 of No-Good Heroes in Norwegian on Friday, and we even got some stickers for the occasion! The book is available at uberpress.no for any Norwegian readers I may have on here - said stickers to be included for the first hundred or so that buy it.
Otherwise I've been deep into gamedev! Our studio recently released Teslagrad 2 which was featured at the recent indie direct. I only had a minor role in that project, doing some UI design work. I've been much more involved in the Girl Genius project which is getting closer to release, and is shaping up to become quite a neat little experience that I hope you'll check out!
On top of that, I've been working with Kodansha to release their new website, doing UI design for them through InkyPen, so that's been very exciting!
Being busy is nothing new, but I feel recently there's just been more going on than normal.
I was meaning to be done with the Eos sketch by now too, but at some point I just didn't like how the latter chapters of book 1 was shaping up, so I just scrapped a lot of it and started over. It's taking some time with everything else going on, but it's better for it!
TL;DR I'm not dead and just doing a lot of stuff like normal!
Ooh! I'm so sorry to cause any confusion. This is volume 2 that we've finally translated (chapters 6 - 10 of the webcomic). We don't have anything new planned for No-Good Heroes. At least not at the moment!
Hi everyone! We just premiered a trailer for No-Good Heroes at the Norwegian book release event! It includes an animated segment, which I hope you'll enjoy!
Please check out the video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KtwTOFrQDk&ab_channel=Zilo
Great news everyone! The book has arrived and it's looking great! I just HAD to pose with my completed series in physical form! If you want to order a physical copy, you can get it from https://zilomedia.com/store
The first 2 books are also half off for the occasion :)
