Hello everyone!
I wanted to give a quick update on the situation with my comic Black Horda:
Unfortunately, despite being on Tapas since 2016, the platform has never worked out for me. My comic is doing much, MUCH better on webtoon, so I always prioritized that. Especially this year, I felt it's more work to upload here than it's really worth it, which is unfortunate because I know there are definitely some of you who are still reading my comic here.
I plan to release a remake of my comic next year, with updated art and story. This has been in the works for a while and I finished volume 1 already.
I wanted to see if this will help to get a few more eyes on the comic here on tapas. I've been getting the feeling my comic is just too old for it to receive any attention, either from new readers or staff.
Heck, I don't even think you can find it in the fantasy genre or via the search function, lol.
If that doesn't work out, I will probably slow down my upload frequency here, and treat tapas as a mirror site for my comic, or stop publishing altogether for the time being.
For now, I will continue to upload all the episodes of volume five and then take a break to focus on the remake for a while.
Thanks to everyone who tipped on this comic and supported me with likes and comments. I've always read them :)
I get what you mean. I'm gonna keep posting my content in both sites but I'll be following you wherever you stay. ;) Keep up the good work and do what's best for you.
Thank you! I've gotten less and less active on here over the years, but I've also met some really great people here, so I want to give it one last shot with the remake. I think you've been here longer than I have. Your endurance is admirable!
Thank you! Hehe! I try my best. ^_^ Actually, you joined some months earlier than I did (so it says in our profiles, I had to check it because I had no idea XD)
Well, sometimes, one of the sites is the trampoline to the success in the other one, so maybe the fact that you started here brought some more fans to the Webtoon site? I had the same problem with DeviantArt. I didn't want to leave there, so I didn't, but I haven't enetered the site for months, so I understand what you're going through.
Tapas is maybe smaller compared to Webtoon, but there are indeed great people around here. Your work will pay off in one of the two places and I'm sure most of your followers here are also probably on Webtoon (I am, at least), so it'll be ok whatever choise you make. Although you have a pretty nice number of followers here and I'm sure they appreciate the effort you're making. That IS armirable too. :)
Hi! Sorry I'm late. Lately I'm more on the app than the website, so I don't read the notifications much. I also just stumbled upon your comic on Webtoons, good to know you're there too. I'll make sure to follow you both there as well. Kinda surprised how two of my favourite authors chatted between them. It made me happy. I'll reread your comics for sure!
Haven't used this feature in a while. I just wanted to announce that I finished my comic "The Madness we call our Homeland", so I will upload the remaining episodes in the coming days. Enjoy!
hey author why are you not updating "The Madness we call our Homeland" here? or tell us you are updating it on webtoons. I only found out about it because "black horda" appeared in Action in Canvas section
Thanks! I really want to but I don't have the time at the moment. This new comic is also just a side project that I will work on when I have some time to spare.
Thanks for subscribing to 'Fanarts and Drawings'!! And remember, if life gives you lemons, you can sell them ;)
And keep up the good work on your comics as well!
Hello! I already mentioned in my last update but I will tell you again in case you missed it:
I was thinking about redrawing my comic (Black Horda) in color.
However, at this point this is not a thought anymore but a decided matter. (I also asked about it on webtoons and I got tons of positive feedback :D) So yeah... I'm redrawing my comic to make it look like a real webcomic. Because of this, I will go on hiatus until *July* to color all the pages I have.
When I come back I will start this comic again with (longer) updates once a week.
(I feel really bad to put the story on hold for the time but I will work hard to get to the point we are now again.)
I'm also working on something like a teaser or prologue with new images to give a slight idea on what is awaiting you in this comic.
Again, I'm sorry there will be no story progress for the time being and I hope you are not too mad.
On another note: You may have noticed some creators worrying about the changes in the terms of service of Tapas. I hope they clear it up soon :/
I get that some people might be worried but they shouldn't take action so quickly or overreact. And I also don't think the Tapas staff had evil intentions. Well, we will see how this all plays out.
Well if they want to leave, it's their choice, it's not my place to talk them out of it, but I ain't gonna follow because I have waaaaaaay too many series (1000+ holy shit) I'm subscribed to to remember the main site of each of them, plus there's no activity feed. And I know there are people here who've been around longer than me and have even more series they're subscribed to than me lol
Looking at my series list, I started coming here to read the gamer cat, probably 3 years ago? And I discovered so many great stories thanks to it (did I say a thousand? yeah that's fuckin' right) so even though it might look shady or it has a shady past no matter how much rebranding they do ahah, this website is still a great deal for both creators and readers.
I hope everyone will realise that
Oh and I'll pay closer attention to tapas updates from now on, I've been told the new ToS was put up on review before they added it but I probably ignored it. If more people, including me, had taken notice of it, we could've prevented that ^^
