Readers of DNR, big news! DNR is getting a makeover. With that makeover, several things are changing.
First and most importantly, the series is getting a name change! DNR was always a sort of placeholder for me (I'm god-awful with titles for any of my work) and it never felt as if it completely suited the story. Certain developments have happened, however, where I now feel as if a suitable name has arrived.
With this title change comes with a brand new cover, with art I commissioned from petitster (https://vgen.co/petitster). This is the first major step to my goals with this story, giving it a proper name and cover, with the hopes of creating a series.
I will be pursuing self-publishing for the books, with book one being entirely free to read on Tapas, with details on the next two books to come. That being said, edits and writing are still taking place.
Many have asked before about social media, and I have finally taken some steps in giving readers a means to stay up to date with me. You can now find me on Instagram and Twitter with the username @vievaleta.
I am also contemplating a discord.
Anyways, although bittersweet and strange, we say goodbye to an era that began July 09, 2018, and ends a little over six years later (• ▽ •;) (lmfaooo that's actually crazy)
an explanation for lack of updates and where i stand with each of my stories:
so lately my place of work has been very short-staffed, leaving me with extra shifts and not a lot of time to write. i noticed the other day that i haven't updated since the beginning of February but also that despite slow updates, i still have readers that come each time i post. i feel really grateful and sorry to those readers ;-;
i figured the least i can do is be open about my writing progress to ease some curious minds.
DNR: next chapter is in progress. i have snippets written but i'm stuck as how to start the chapter lmfao. once i figure that out, the new chapter should be out shortly! (give it like a week)
These Violent Delights: this story won't be seeing updates any time soon tbh. i really like the story (read: characters), but the plot itself is heavily underdeveloped, which is actually why i ended up not completing the writers camp it was enrolled in. i didn't want to slap anything together, and i had a feeling the story wouldn't win anyways. i want to take my time with the plot and iron things out, so the characters will especially shine in their environment. i'm projecting that sometime in the summer this story will get active again!
The Distance Between Us: hehe as you can see it hasn't seen updates since 2017. this was because of the lack of interest in the story, but nowadays i kind of don't like my set up for the story. i want to rework the beginning and some elements within the story, but one day i want to get back into it. i had really fun plans for the story plot and i really want to get into it!
that said, what you guys don't know is that i write a lot of fanfiction too (harry potter and naruto mainly) and trying to write those stories and my originals is kind of a balancing act, one i'm very clumsy with.
in short, thank you for being patient with me! i appreciate any support i receive (likes, ink, comments, subs), seriously. thank you for 800+ subs on DNR!!!
You are amazing and a fucking master at weaving words. Do your best but remember to focus on you. You deserve time ^^ Love you, girl, you're my sister from another mister<3
I do read a lot of your fanfictions over at fanfic net as well, and I've been dying to see their continuation! Especially The Secrets We All Keep and Instead of Kindness <3
Though i guess it can't be helped if work is in the way, so best of luck to you and thanks for all the great stories you wrote. Hope you don't stress yourself out too much balancing between work and writing
