So I talked about having been hired for illustrating a children's book and it's finally gone into print :3
Now, most of you know this is not the first time I've been published. I've been attached to most of the HSD releases up until now and likely will in the future too. This however is the first time I'm the sole contributor of artwork for a given project, so yay me!
The book called "Korvatunturin katastrofi" (ENG: Disaster in Korvatunturi) is, as mentioned before, a children's christmas story based on mostly finnish versions of christmas and santa clause lore, with a few touches to bring it into the modern age. It's currently only available in finnish, but will be translated into english and several other languages for next year's christmas season.
For anyone interested in taking a peak, here's the official facebook page to keep you up to date on current and future developments:

Concerning my personal experience with the project: It was an interesting deviation from everything I've done so far. Those of you who know me from my early days are aware I have a far more adult focus in my usual work, tech, gore, violence or raunchiness all running rampant through my various galleries, so this was a an interesting thematic 'vacation' to take.
It was also my first taste of a truly professional work pipeline, keeping up to date with the author and developing a style alongside them that would match the story best, actually rendering the images and all the various touchups and alterations that had to be made to best suit them to the various publication channels ... interesting stuff.
So yeah, that's what's been eating my time since October, but I feel the result was well worth the invested time and so does everyone else who's seen the work, so I'm not 'that' badly miffed about missing out an opportunity to work for myself ;3
Thanks for hanging around and stay tuned for future updates!
You guys probably already guessed it, but here you have it in "print"
Forest Tails is taking a short hiatus on accounts of my ass not getting the dialogue right/getting too confusing and fucking up the story in the process. I was putting myself under too much pressure to write and a friend of mine had to set my head straight again and remind me that the quality of the upload was a lot more important than uploading "on time" - so ...
I dedicated several hours of time this past monday to work out some kinks about the return trip to Sunwind Fields and I've managed to roll along very well for it. I'm currently in the process of wording future pages again and I'll upload at the earliest opportunity. However, uploads will be more sporradic again for a while.
Of course this had to happen right after I opened the Ko-Fi page, so for all those of you who invested, sorry for the wait ^^;
For those who want to throw money at me despite the delay, the link is just below.

This image (and some others like it) will serve as placeholders from here on out, so you guys can at least get an update on the situation :b the artwork description will then hold updates on whatever issue might have arisen.
Cheers to you all for all your support. Tobur and Nele will be back soon.
Don't worry, we're here waiting :) Take all the time you need to settle things out and mourn your loss. Pets are important friends too, so don't feel pressured to come back before your're ready <3
Hey, what's going on?! It's been two thursdays and there's been no upload? :(
Well folks, I will admit that I've been slouching a little bit. Last week I was out of the country, on vacation, so I hope that's at least a little bit of an excuse.
This week I did actually want to get down to business again, but I have unfortunately fallen ill and am currently struggling to keep my eyes open between the actual sickness and the side effects of the medication, so - egh.
Here's me hoping that I will actually get that next page of story done for next thursday, since I've managed to zero in on the dialogue proper and it should hopefully flow regularily again from here on out (just jinxed it, but whatev's).
Don't worry about it too much. We all need a vacation now and then and getting sick isn't your fault. I myself have been dying from allergies until relatively recently.
@The1Ryu: Heh, I can see where the confusion would have come from at first, but it would have been a bit of a bad slip up of me if I had introduced a second fox that way ^^;
@Anomaly: I know getting sick isn't my fault. It's still frustrating though, especially since I've had FT on hold for two months now, which is exactly what I did not want to have happen XD
Alright, so I didn't come around to doing a character portrait this week and I figure those might be getting a little boring for you guys by now too, so I decided to mix things up a little bit.
What you see here is ... well, Tobur and a five year old apple tree. Both attributes about this plant are significant in their own way. Why will, as usual, be revealed in the course of the story.
I may upload either a character portrait or one of these "Forest Things" slice of life scenes until the story continues. Good news on that end - I finally made a breakthrough on the dialogue, so we'll be getting new story pages just as soon as I can sort out the time for it :3
Here's this week's "upload", though I know you guys are waiting on the real story bits. as it stands, I'm thinking September is a realistic restatrt time for the story, as I will actually need some quiet to myself to figure some things out and that just hasn't been happening as of late - better luck next month, I guess :/
Aye, she's surprisingly assertive when she gets in an argument. She does know her limits though - doing the same to Anelie would likely land her a sat of teeth in her neck, so ...
Alright, Thing Thursday is here again and another character portrait is uploaded as a result and we are now all revealed that Nilibo is ridiculously old for a wild rabbit. There's life in him yet though ^^
At this rate, Forest Tails may only continue in September, depending on how hectic con preparations become and whether I can make this damn dialogue work or not :b
