I randomly felt like typing "Happy birthday" and then remembered that Christmas is technically supposed to be the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus, so it works both ways I guess XD
"I'm sitting in my room and I am a human popsicle.
My arms are cold, my hands are cold, my feet are cold, my back is cold.
It's officially winter in my bedroom"
Right after thinking that I got up, went under my AC vent and tried to jump up to see if it was on and a voice in the back of my head said "You can't hear the AC noises and you're too short to be able to feel the wind coming from it that way, what are you trying to do, kid!?" XD
Aaaaaaaaah, I'm brainstorming stories, but I need more information--> https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeAhSJGzNSySpc7ZbriDl9Sh-iXCgq_M0xcf1DM2g-B_w41qg/viewform?usp=sf_link
Me to friends or classmates: *shows art* hey, what do you think of this?
Friend or classmate: I'm not an artist!
Me: Yes, I know, that's the point, now what do you think?
Now that I live in a place where the news is almost always on, I was reminded of something a little intriguing about America. People expect you to vote once you're old enough to, but they never teach us anything about politics in school. As a human of limited experience myself, I haven't heard a lick of anything about politics in school since 4th grade and that was in an extracurricular group provided by one of my teachers. Even then, we only went over the basics, seeing as we were still ignorant, little elementary schoolers, like the difference between the Democratic party and the Republican party. It's been so long now that I can't even remember which one does what or which one was the elephant or the donkey, and that's with people talking about Democrats and Republicans every morning on the news!
I mean, where else are kids going to learn about politics? They're kids! Even if they're in high school, only a select few will learn about politics in their own spare time because I'm pretty sure most people, or at least children, would find the idea of politics hecka boring even if it is one of the things running the country. While they could easily learn some from their parents or the news, a lot of that information could easily be heavily biased (depending on where you're from) and for some may not be the most adequate way of learning how the world works.
So yeah. I'm just confused with how much America values politics but doesn't teach their kids much of anything about it.
*Aggressively taps screen with map of the United States* "AMERICA EXPLAIN!"
Ok, so I just had a Socratic seminar on "Lord of the Flies" in class and at the end of my class period the teacher said "ok, does the outer circle have anything they want to add?" (I was on the outer circle) and I said "The real question is why does Jack have a knife!? Why did he bring the knife to school?? He had it on a plane!"
i think the moral of the story is sometimes security doesn't make us safe heh and it was another time, i used to carry a swiss army knife to school everyday and no one raised an eyebrow xD
Oh hey, remember that one time I made a video for my sketchbook that ended in the middle? Well, I finally finished, so here it is if you want to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qXiF01oqGA
