FYI- usually unless there is something I really dislike in a series I’ll like it if I read it. I figure as long as I’m still reading, it deserves a technical “like” . So I haven’t got the highest standards for “liking” things here.
I’m an art instructor. I’ve dabbled in writing but I’m currently unpublished. I like romance stories that have no cheating (I had a traumatic experience with that so I’m careful about avoiding it). I don’t usually like stories with a love triangle since someone always gets hurt, but there are exceptions (as long as cheating isn’t involved). I consider myself a science nerd, a language nerd, a history and mythology nerd, a psychology nerd, and a philosophy nerd. I love Jesus and the laws of thermodynamics (unequally, but I still think science is pretty cool) but I don’t like stories with demons and stuff- I’ve never seen them be the good guys in real life and it’s dangerous to think, or imagine, or assume that they ever could be. I enjoy action and adventure stories and sometimes a mystery but I don’t like horror. I don’t like to see people get hurt so I don’t like slasher either. I’m not exactly a prude but I prefer commitment in love stories- eventual, growing commitment counts. I enjoy stories that have what I like to call a “wow factor” - they make you go “wow” from impressive plot reveals, action scenes, and sweet relationships, often involving secondary characters finding out about the secrets of the primary characters.
