When mortals fall asleep, their spirits wander disoriented between dimensions, taking with them only the vague memory of what they are. For countless ages, Yala guided those mortal spirits through the Webs of Existence that connect the Material World and the Kingdom of Dreams. It was easy for a mortal to get carried away by illusions and risk never waking up again, that’s why Yala, Daughter of Movement, made of Fire and Air, illuminated the path of the unwary so they could safely return to their homes. What no one could predict was that she would fall for the imagination and inventive ability of humans, which were manifested in its purest form in the World of Dreams, sometimes naive and sweet, sometimes cruel and nasty. After ages of contemplation, the Daughter of Movement decided to abandon her immortality in order to exist among the mortals and learn to imagine like them. Announcing her decision to Dream itself, son of Death, he warned her:
“Time in the Material World will mark your body and soul. You will exist for much more time than the mortals and will have to get used to loss, something you don’t know, being a descendant of the Weavers.
“From everything you feel, suffering will be constant, but you will know that something will be worth it when nothing more matters.
“Keep your horns with you and, therefore, you will stay alive and connected to the Web of Existence. Nevertheless I warn that, if the mortals find out about the power you withhold, you will know fear.
“Go and feel.
“Bleed
“I will be waiting for you, my dearest.
