Ever since I was young it always felt like I was looking for something but, didn’t know what. I feel like I'm missing something. I miss someone who I never have met yet, a place I haven't called home yet, and a true love I have not experienced yet, I hope I'm not the only one. I saw it once; I have no doubt; but now I can't place its whereabouts. I try to think it, time and time, but what it is won't come to mind. A word, A scent; a feeling of the past, it will not show no matter how much I ask.
Looking out through the night, and its shining light show, always brought me a sort of heart ache, if only I could remember why. Even if I could just figure out why the rain makes me cry. Why does something so pretty that gives the earth life, make me so despaired.
Well, there is no more time for thinking right now. We just moved into our new house. My family has always moved a lot as my dad got promoted. This will be out final move though. So, I can finally settle down into my forever home and school. Having a few days still before needing to go to my school, I go down to help set up my mom's bakery. She finally found a place down here and she is living out her own dream. We finish cleaning tables and preparing all the items for sales.
“Aslan sweety, if you want to take the train back early you can. I’ll finish up here.” My mom calls out from the back.
“Are you sure mom? I can wait for you.”
“It’s fine, you have to get used to riding the train alone anyways, and this way you can start dinner.”
“Okay, what do you want me to make?”
“I’m feeling pasta, how about you?”
“Sounds good mom, I’ll be off now.” I chuckle on my way out.
“Be safe, call me if something happens!”
The sun was only beginning to set, but the cotton candy sky was so lovely. I start to take my phone out for picture when someone bumps into me.
“I’m so sorry”
He says with his head down low. He seems to be about my age.
“Your, fine. I was the one who stopped walking anyways.”
I looked at the bag on his back and saw the name of the school I'll be attending.
“Oh, hey. I’m starting that school in a few days I just moved here. What grade are you in.”
“Oh, um. I'm a senior.”
“I am too, what's your name.” He looks up to me finally before saying
“Um-, my name is Greyson, and you are?” We make eye contact.
“My name is Aslan. Have we met somewhere before?” He looks away quickly again.
“No, I don’t think we have, anyways I have to go. Once again sorry for bumping into you.”
“Hey! Wait-”
Before I could finish, he was out of my view. Weird I swear I've, seen him before.
Special note~
If you also got to read the original one I had you may notice it is totally different. I decided after I was trying to rewrite it that it must did not make much sense. So tried a different approach and much prefer this one.
