{Prologue}
I.
A deep dark night set on the damp lush tropical landscape of eastern Haiti, where something extraordinarily wicked began that dark summer night, June 30th 1982.
The small, humble, semi-dilapidated home of one Monsieur Jéan Eli brimmed with a muggy, sour sweltering heat. It was on that night that Monsieur Jéan was finally on the brim of performing his most recent and ultimate goal: to become the harbinger to an evil entity that he'd been hoping would bring an end to the wretched world that had all but destroyed him.
He'd been studying passionately, attempting all of the many various spells and incantations available to him, spending months looking at various books of his mother's former (And sister's current) persuasion (they were said to be infamous caplatas of ill repute), And that night, Jéan Eli's search for retribution came to fruition.
Jéan grew up in total destitution, abandoned by most of his family by age eleven, with only his sister Fabi remaining by his side, they were forced to learn to survive on their own. Scrounging around the streets of Port Au Prince under the Duvalier regime, he'd unfortunately seen just how indifferent and cruel this world can be to homeless children, with the human denizens of indifferent tourists and opportunistic monsters ravaging the streets of his land, he had at a young age learned to become a vengeful, angry and bitter man.
The young monsieur Eli wanted nothing more than to return the favor of providing their cruelty back to them, but then...
He fell in love...
