It is a dark and rainy night as Elaina Beckett drives to her destination on the open and lonely road with her daughter, Evee in the back seat of the car playing with her toys. The child stops playing, and looks to her mother’s seat.
“Mommy.” She speaks. “Where are we going?”
“We're going to where your daddy works.” Elaina answers with concern.
“Oh... Are we going to find him there?”
Elaina sighs. “... I hope so, baby, since he’s been missing for some days now...”
“Why has he been missing?”
“I… I don’t know why, but I had got a message a couple days ago saying that he would be here.”
In minutes of driving, Elaina arrives at the end of the road, stopping her car in front of a security booth and fence surrounding a wide 14-story building with a sign placed atop of it titled MediCorp. Elaina then turns her car off and puts an earpiece in her ear. She goes to her glove compartment on the passenger side and takes a gun out and checks the magazine inside. Seeing the weapon is in order, she puts it in her holster. She gets out of the car to go to the driver backseat door and opens it to let Evee out.
“Are we here?” She asks.
“Yeah, we’re here.” Elaina replies.
She gets Evee out of the car, and puts a secondary earpiece in Evee's ear, prompting her to touch it.
“What's this, Mommy?” She asks.
“It's a communication earpiece.” Elaina replies. “Listen. If something happens to where we get separated, I want you to hide, and press the button on it to call me.”
Elaina places Evee's finger to the button on the earpiece. “Call me, and I'll find where you’re hiding. You understand?”
“Yes, Mommy. I understand.”
Elaina then picks up Evee and looks at the imposing building that is MediCorp. She walks to the security fence that was locked. She then looks down at the fence’s trail and sees a gap in it to her left. Elaina walks towards it and puts Evee down, signaling her to go through the gap. Elaina then follows through and looks around the area as she holds Evee’s hand.
“Would there be people out here?” Evee asks.
“Yes.” Elaina replies. “But this is unusual. Where are they?”
Seeing no kind of guard presence, Elaina looks and sees the front door blocked by debris, but finds an opening straight ahead of her seeing a scaffolding and a ladder leading to an open window of the building with a light source. She guides Evee with her towards the building, prompting Evee to climb the ladder to reach the window with Elaina following behind her. Evee slowly gets in and looks at the state of the room.
“It's messy in here.” She comments.
Elaina jumps through the window and looks around the room seeing tables and chairs flipped over and sees stains on the floor.
“I hope that isn’t blood…” She mutters to herself.
The lights in the room blew their fuses, making it dark and unable for the two to see. “Aw, that's just great.”
Elaina takes out a flashlight from her holster, gives it to Evee, and picks her up. Evee points it to a door with lighting on the other side.
“There’s some light over there, Mommy.”
Elaina sees where Evee is pointing and walks towards the direction and opens the door to find a hallway full of destroyed furniture to the side.
“What happened here?” She asks quietly.
Evee then looks to the floor and points at a few stains. “What is that?”
Elaina sees what Evee is pointing at, but chose not to respond, and proceeds to walk down the hallway. At the end of the hallway, she opens the door to another room and sees five people inside: three men and two women. One man looks at TV screen showing nothing but static, the second man was looking down at his hands and mumbling under his breath, and the third man was sitting on the floor in the corner. One of the women was laying on the floor talking to herself, while the other draws on a wall of something with blood. Elaina sees they are wearing patient robes.
Evee whimpers. “Mommy…”
“Christ.” She quietly speaks.
Elaina starts walking slowly with Evee still in her arms while she unhooks her gun’s holster.
“Why are there patients here?” She asks herself. “This is supposed to be a pharmaceutical company…”
As Elaina starts heading to the next door leading she and Evee out, the patients begin to slowly stare at the two. The woman who was drawing on the wall begins pointing at them.
“The heiress of the blood is here?” She asks.
“The heiress.” The second woman responds.
“The heiress…” The three men repeat.
The group continues repeating the same words as Elaina continues to walk towards the door until she sees a folder next to the door. Since the patients were just pointing, Elaina picks it up slowly and opens the door leading into another room. She puts Evee down, puts her back to the door, and opens the folder.
“What's this about?” She asks herself.
She reads a note stating:
XX/XX/13
This place has gone to shit. The subjects are now loose due to the accident. I even saw Darson unlock some of the cells. I’ve seen the subjects start killing the security guards and the scientists. Beckett... I don't know where he is, but he should've known about this by now. Out of all the subjects, the one that I fear the most is Subject A101: Galvin Leonard. Age 40. He's the most vicious subject since he has unbelievable strength due to the experiments that were performed on him. He's killed six patients by his strength alone with no weapons. A couple of hours ago, I saw a room full of heads on the second floor. I see patients starting to hide in areas of the building, and the higher ups are missing. Lorison, another subject, is becoming more off the wall than usual as well. I have to get out of here, but there’s something here that doesn't want us to leave... I’ve seen something floating around this place…

When she finishes reading, Elaina takes out her phone from her jacket pocket and snaps a picture of the note and looks up to see another door. She puts her phone back in her pocket, stands to hold Evee by the hand and walks to open the door showing an open and well-lit L shaped hallway with furniture turned over, and blood everywhere. Elaina pulls Evee close to her as they proceed to walk down the hallway passing a closed and dark room, and then turn to see the hall blocked by debris, but Elaina sees an opening through the debris.
“It looks like a way to get through this mess.” She speaks. “You go in first, Evee.”
Evee goes through the debris with no issue. Elaina attempts to go through the opening, but feels a hand grip her arm and shoulder and forcefully pull her from the opening, and inhumanely pushes Elaina through a glass window into the dark room. She recovers by being surrounded by bodies in pools of blood and dismembered heads, causing her to crawl away in unspeakable shock and takes out her gun.
“Momma!” Evee shouts in fear.
Evee catches the attacker's attention. She sees he is a tall and burly man. Bloody, scars all over his body, a milky sheen over his eyes, and sharp, jagged looking teeth. She freezes in fear as she stares at him as he looks dead in her eyes. He then sniffs the air and growls.
“That scent... so familiar.” He speaks. “You’re the spawn of the bastard. You’re what I need to find him.”
The man hears a gun cocking and turns to see Elaina in the aiming her gun at him.
“Get the hell away from her!” She yells.
The man starts to walk towards her, prompting Elaina to fire her gun to where she empties the magazine into his chest. The man looks at his gun wounds and was unfazed by them, leaving Elaina in disbelief. The man smells the air once again.
“So,” He speaks. “The bastard’s whore is here… You should have never come here…”
The man starts walking towards her, making Elaina put another magazine in her gun. Before Elaina could aim at giant man, the floor gives from under her, and she falls through a couple of floors, landing on her back, groaning in pain, and barely conscious. Through her blurry vision, she sees a bald man wearing a cotton long white sleeve shirt and a cotton pants standing over her.
“Are you okay?” The man asks.
He kneels extending his hand and observing Elaina’s light chocolate face.
“I… think so...” She responds.
She slowly grabs the man’s hand and helps her up. The man then quietly gasps with a surprised face.
“It's you!” He speaks. “You're his wife! I know you’re not here by yourself, detective.”
Elaina quickly looks at him when he says her title. “How do you know all of that?”
“There are many eyes here.” He responds. “You must be careful here. Please guard your life and find your daughter and him.”
Before Elaina can say anything, He leaves by going through a dark corridor.
. . . . .
On the second floor, Evee runs away from the sight of the giant man and sees a door near the debris. She opens the door leading into another room that was dark. She turns on her flashlight and sees destroyed furniture.
Evee whimpers. “Where am I?...”
She walks through the debris and goes through another door which is also dark on the other side. She starts to hear static come from her earpiece.
“Mom? Hello?” She calls.
“Evee, baby, it's me.” Elaina responds over the earpiece. “Are you alright?”
“I'm fine, but I'm scared. I don't know where to go…”
“Don't worry. I'll find you. Are you still on the same floor where I saw you last?”
Evee starts to sob. “…Yes. I don’t know where the scary man is, but I don’t hear him.”
“Okay. Go find a place to hide and I’ll find you, and don’t move. Alright?”
“Alright…”
“Good girl.”
As the earpiece turns off, Evee finds a folder on the floor near a lab coat. She picks it up and opens the folder revealing a letter. The letter reads:
XX/XX/12
There are two patients that I fear besides subject A101, and it is subjects F32 and F33. The sisters, Yvette, and Iola Evens. Ages 28 and 31 respectively. AKA "Seven" and "Nix" also respectively. They were committed here due to mutilating men that they claimed, “done them wrong”. I've seen them kill three male patients during my time here. They follow under subject G01: Mary Margo. Age 42. AKA "Sister". I don't want to get in their path. EVER. Last time I saw F33 was when she was being sent to the infirmary, claiming that she was ambushed, beaten, and assaulted by subject B36: Benjamin Porter, Age 37, who had a scar on his face and a gash on his arm from F33. He was sent to isolation as punishment after getting stitched up by one of our medics. When he was in isolation, there was this black mist I saw consumed B36, and it left him mentally unstable than he already was. He continues to say he’s waiting his “one and only.” I don’t know what that means, nor do I want to know. But that black mist, what was that thing?...

When Evee finishes reading, she hears a person speaking to their self. As she turns off her flashlight now hiding in the dark, Evee accidently kicks an object and sees the screen on it light up. She picks it up seeing it is a small silver camcorder which is full of power and has night vision for her to see in the dark. Evee then hears the voice come closer and sees a figure of a woman in the doorway via camcorder talking in a stuttering voice.
“They m-must not find me. They MUST NOT find me!” The woman mutters repeatedly. “Galvin, Benjamin, Danny… I must not let them find me. I must find The Brothers. Yeah. They'll protect me... So, will Seven.”
Evee quietly whimpers, seeing the thin woman wearing tattered patient robe and pants, with bloody scars on her mocha arms, legs, torso, and face. She has short and messy-looking black hair. As she puts the camcorder in her pocket, an object gets knocked down near Evee which makes the woman take out an 8-inch blade that was hidden inside the right side of her torn pants and looks in Evee’s direction.
“Who-who's there?!” The woman shouts. “If you in here Dan, I'll rip you to p-pieces!”
The woman then walks slowly to where Evee is sitting. Finding an object that feels like a rock, Evee throws an object on the other side of the room which catches the woman's attention while Evee walks towards the doorway where the woman entered, but she then feels a hand touch the top of her head.
“H-hair?” The woman speaks. “Whose hair is this?”
The woman takes out her own flashlight and sees Evee frantically crawling away into a corner of the room.
“A child?” She says in confusion. “Y-you shouldn't be here.”
Evee starts to sob. “Please... Don't hurt me...”
The woman sees the fear in Evee’s light skinned red face and tear-filled eyes and puts her knife away.
“I-I won't. Not to a child.” The woman assures. “I-I'm s-sorry for scaring you. I won't hurt you. Why are you in here?”
“I'm supposed to be hiding.” Evee replies.
“But you c-can't hide here. I can take you somewhere s-safe.”
“But I need my mom to find me. She told me to hide, and I don’t know you.”
The woman sighs. “Understandable. But y-you can't hide here, little one. We have got to go to Sister. W-who's your mother anyway?”
“…Elaina.”
The woman stops for a moment in thought because the name sounded familiar. “Last name?”
“…Beckett.”
The woman gasps with a surprised look on her face that Evee could not see.
“You're his daughter.” She responds. “You're the heiress of the blood, Evee Beckett.”
Evee looks bewildered. “…How do you know my name?”
“Y-You’re very well-known here because of your dad.”
Evee’s face sparks as she wipes her eyes. “Daddy? You know him? Can you take me to him?”
The woman stumbles on her words only to sigh.
“I… I don’t know w-where he is. I wish I did. But I need you to go with me, Evee. I-I'll take you somewhere safe. Trust me. Do you have a way to contact her?”
Evee points at her earpiece in her ear.
“A-alright.” The woman speaks. “Make sure to call her about where we are. Okay?”
“Okay.” Evee responds.
The woman picks Evee up and walks into the dark room she came from previously with her flashlight lighting the way.
