In the time before time, in the space between heaven and Earth, millennia before humans called this their home they were born out of starlight. They came to be from what was leftover in the aftermath of the explosion that created our universe.

Humans have always been a hubris race in everything, from excessive self-assurance to believing that they are the favorite children of one omnipotent creator. To what their place and role is in the grand ever expanding and chaotic universe.

But, the most remarkable delusion has been that they are the first and only intelligent race to inhabit the Earth.

The truth about life and the essence of creation as recorded in the ancient texts of the Guardians say that we all are beings made of energy, not only us but everything around us.

Some cultures on Earth got this story of the creation right, it's just that the reality and magnitude of it have always been too great for them to comprehend.

The soul, that was right, humans have a soul, and they have explained it adequately.

The law of conservation of energy, states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another. This means that a source always has the same amount of energy unless it's added from the outside.

This explanation never came from any religious text or figure, and it has never been as popular with humans as other theories of creation.

They ... came into being from the chaos of creation, as leftover energy mixing with what was then the birth of our planet.

The first who came, from the ones who would later call themselves guardians, was the Ancient Master. His birth, as told in the Guardian archives, was just as the Earth was beginning to take shape.

We do not know how long it took for him to gain sentience, but there is a beautiful description of the 1st scenery that he can remember.

The Ancient Master, the first of the guardian was born before our Earth had shape before there was air, grass, oceans, and blue skies. Nevertheless, the sceneries he describes in his early writings speak of his love and connection with the planet he called home. He almost speaks, and in some of his entries, he refers to her as *Gaia, ancient mother Earth.

One of the most intense and detailed entries tells of the interminable oceans of molten lava that covered the earth, and the beauty of the hot atmosphere, remaining like this over a few hundred thousand million years. This is the time when most of the inner circle guardians were born, these are the elders that form a sort of regulatory body for the rest of the guardians.

From here on out, there were a further five stages of birth for the Guardian race, each precipitate by a huge surge of energy mostly from volcanic eruptions and asteroid hits. There are in total only 8,820 guardians with the last of them born on what is now the island of Thera. Where about 3,600 years ago there was, what is probably one of the most severe volcanic explosions in the last 10,000 years. This explosion is categorized today as a rare catastrophic super colossal eruption and it gave birth to the last guardian, the only one of them to be given a name in their original form, Thera.

Guardians are sentient energy beings, in their original form they resemble fireflies, white whispers of light.

Over the millennia as the human race developed guardians started to discover they had the ability to live human lives if they so choose, by incarnating, being born living, and dying in human form.

So the decision was made early on that they had an obligation, as superior being to not only protect Earth but also everything that dwelled in it.

Humans are the most complex and similar form of life to themselves so the study and documentation of the human condition became their mission.
