Japan... in the not too distant future...

Near a clear blue waterfall, a small house resides peacefully near the rocky cliffside. A crow flies by, cawing into the air. As the sun rises above the mountains in the distance, a mysterious figure stands in front of the house.

Emitting an dark and ungodly aura, she even makes the wind itself cower in fear. A little girl watches in horror of what is standing in front of her.

"Wait here baby... it'll soon be over." A woman with brown skin tells the girl, while holding a Katana in her left hand. The woman smiles at the girl, who still stands in fear of the mysterious woman standing in front of them.

"Remember me, Kai? I have been waiting for this moment for years, ever since I marked you!" The mysterious woman snarls.

"I know... but, this is where it ends for you!" Kai charges at the woman with her sword and she attempts to strike at her, but the woman blocks it with a blade of her own.

As the two women trade and parry their attacks, the sparks from their swords fly in the air. The little girl watches on, seeing her mother grow even faster as the fight progresses.

As the woman goes in for a sword strike to Kai's neck, she is countered with a stab through the stomach by Kai's sword. Kai prepares to decapitate the woman, but she feels something go through her chest.

"Oh, having trouble?" The woman says as blood drips from Kai's mouth. The woman twists the blade and she removes it, causing a fountain of blood to spew from Kai's chest.  Kai falls towards her daughter, who begins to shed tears over the sight over her mothers broken body.

"Death is beautiful. The flow of blood is insatible!" As the woman celebrates her victory, the young girl cries in agony over her mother's bloody corpse.

"We are the rulers of this world! The new gods that reign in the night!" The woman bellows as she laughs manaically. The woman removes Kai's sword from her stomach and she slowly approaches the young girl, her dark aura unsettling her.

"It is, highly unfourtunate that you had to see this little one. This moment will forever haunt you. You will be consumed by hatred for my kind. But don't fret, I'll just end your pain right here!" The woman raises her hand and she causes the young girls body to rip and tear in grotesque fashion.

As the girl lays on the floor, her eyes begin to lose color in her vision as everything around her begins to fade away into black. Her blood covers her tears and she passes out from pain.

Nightfall, six hours later. The girl partialy wakes up to see a strange man, with voodoo garb and sunglasses, standing over her. As the thunder and lightning rage in the sky on the outside of the man's house, he sees that the girls wounds are slowly starting to close up and dissapear.

"A half breed, brought into this world by a cruel twist of fate. If you are going to survive in this world, you must learn how to kill the very thing that killed your mother." The man leaves her, as she is lying on top of an alter, covered in her own blood.

"Rest here, for soon... your training will begin! For my name is Papa Tengu, Voodoo master." The man says to the girl as he leaves.
