CW: Medical themes and injury
Last time I checked in, it was to state that my eyes were basically failing on me. And of course that last message came just before the pandemic kicked off and affected so many of our lives in really dire ways.
NEW check-in: I spent the entire pandemic getting further rounds of eye surgery. 3 years of constant stabbings and lasering really sucks folks, I don't know what else to say. It's so unpleasant and painful and I had to go back up to 4x a month at one point. Extremely uncool. But this month, they seem to have gotten better. In 'remission' of a sort. I want to believe they will stay stable at this point.
Both shoulders and my knee gave out in really awful ways thanks to work and being trapped indoors for 2 years without much opportunity for exercise. So that's fun. I've done a year of physio in addition to all my other medical treatments. Adjusted my medication, which all still have kind of annoying side effects. This problem is ongoing and a real pain in the everything.
But finally. Finally.... I want to return to CoA. I'm in a lot of pain, but very alive. I still have 2+ jobs to deal with to make ends meet, but I want to keep making comics again soon. I can't say exactly when or how fast I can update given all of this, but... I want it to be soon.

Sorry to hear how bad the situation has been with your eyes! I really hope you get some relief soon so your quality of life is better.

I know it's been a while since I last checked in, citing medical reasons and work, but the reason for that is, the medical reasons got worse, actually. I'm so tired of feeling sick from my medication all the time, and I've had 4 rounds of two types of eye surgery. This isn't me fishing for pity or anything, because I accept what I had and have to do to not lose my sight and I do live in Canada so I'm not going to be in debt for the rest of my life, thankfully.
The stress and exhaustion from all this is a bit of a creativity killer. It's just an explanation. I want to update as soon as possible. I'll do my best.

As you said yourself, it's a stressful and exhaustive experience, all too unfortunately natural for such a thing to sap one's energy. At least you can vent it here, in fact i think it would be good for you to do a bit of it, here or anywhere else you feel like.
Thanks for understanding T_T I'm trying to use what energy I have to script and outline ahead so at least I'm more prepared that way.
Hey folks. I felt I needed to touch base again after an extended period of being silent. I'm not good at speaking up when I'm having trouble, but I'm definitely alive. I've just had a lot of freelance overtaking me and the stress and some ignored medical issues were affecting my physical health in an increasingly serious way. I've been to the docs, and taken the time to process some bad/serious news, but don't worry!!! I'm taking care of myself as well as I can, now.
Money has been kinda tight though, and I had to apply for even more work to be able to even pay the taxes I owed for last year 6__6;; On the bright side.... uh, I'm all but finalized in being accepted as a contractor for Viz Media so that's cool right? : )))
I'll be back home soon and will do my level best to have a new page before the end of the month. I don't want to give up!! So thanks for sticking with me~!

HEeeeyyy everyone! Page 6 is nearly done. It's fully flatted and ready for shading and finishing. Unfortunately, I accidentally ended up with double books to letter again because one came in a little late. And our rescue cat had kittens, one of which is very sick right now.

Page 5 will be up this coming Monday. The wait on that one was heinous, I know : / I had a lot of junk to work out and a very very busy couple months with lettering. I refined my process a little so hopefully, things roll along a little quicker.

Hey folks! Apologize that page 4 isn't up just yet. I headed to Emerald City Comic Con at the beginning of March and then spent some needed time with my partner in Seattle. I appreciate the patience! I'll have more for you soon. Unfortunately, I'm also sick now from traveling, so I'll just be dosing myself with meds and working as hard as I can. = n =/

Second, I apologize for not updating as quickly as I'd like. I make my own comics as a secondary "job" but I'm actually a letterer by day! That means I have to put that work first, and I just got a new project to work on with a tight deadline ;3 That means money in the bank, woohoo! But, I'll be really busy until the end of Feb. I'm going to do my best to get you more pages very soon.
