Well, I got hospitalized again. I think the universe doesn't want me working on my comic or something. I won't abandon it, I swear! But now I need to recover again.
Hey, guys. There won't be any updates anytime soon. Last week, I was hospitalized, and long story short, I was diagnosed with a chronic disease that will take me a lot time to get used to and learn how to manage. I'm (somewhat) okay now, but I'm still definitely recovering, and I've already fallen behind on my schoolwork, so that is now a priority (alongside my health, of course!). I really appreciate all of your support!
First off: Sorry for not updating in a while. Second off: Sorry for apologizing so much.
Being a new and extremely inexperienced creator, I'm definitely not used to keeping a schedule. That fact is not helped by the fact that I'm typically bad with time management to begin with. But, this semester, while not particularly taxing, sort of took a bit of a dive after my dog died. Additionally, I've been having to take on more responsibilities that come with getting closer to adulthood, which isn't helping my schedule, either.
It also didn't help that I had a humongous art block in the middle of the semester.
But, once finals are over and the presents are wrapped, I could possibly have time to update.
Or not. You know how it goes... You spend a day doing all these assorted tasks, and by the time you're ready to finally settle down and draw, BOOM. Break's over.
On a happier note, the holidays are coming! Yay! Happy Holidays, everyone!
(Darn! I should've drawn Ben in a Santa hat... Maybe I'll do that later.) And, the anniversary of the creation of Pieces of Paper is coming up! Okay, technically, that was on the 9th, but that was the title page. I'm talking about the actual strips. Maybe I'll draw something.
Or miss the deadlines. As usual.
So. Midterms. Exams. Papers. Speeches. My motivation has died, and art block decided to show up, too. That is why I haven't been posting. Hey, it's only been almost TWO MONTHS. I'm not very good at keeping a schedule. TvT
So, how have you guys been doing? Are any of you slowly suffocating under piles of papers, too?
I have a bit of an announcement. Today, my family had to say goodbye to our dog Shorty, who has been with us ever since my sister and I were three years old. He had an incurable genetic disorder that caused his spine to degenerate, which means that he slowly lost control of his body bit by bit. He was still alive and alert, but his body wasn't working anymore. It was getting to the point where he couldn't move his legs much at all--He couldn't stand. Also, he was having trouble breathing because his diaphragm was starting to go, too. But the fact that he was still alert made it really hard to let go.
That being said, it might take a little while for the comic to get started up again (especially since school is still in session). I'm going to miss him.
Alright guys, I have an announcement to make. Recently, I have found that my comics are REALLY not mobile-friendly, and I want to fix that. This probably means I'll be clustering multiple Fragments together, and maybe even redrawing entire pages. Since I'm a complete comic rookie, let alone when it comes to webcomics, I'm still learning a lot of things (such as paneling and speech bubble placement), so there is a lot I need to improve. That being said, there might be a lot of shifting around sometime in the future. Not sure when, but eventually.
And of course, working with traditional mediums limits my canvas space, which is one of the reasons why it doesn't look so good here, put together. I want to make the transition to digital eventually, but I need a lot of practice before I'm ready to publish any of that. Heck, I need to know how to properly format stuff on the computer, for I haven't even managed that yet! computers can be so confusing.
Alright. Hello, readers! Thank you for sticking with me even though my upload schedule is spotty at best. I genuinely appreciate that you guys like and support my stuff. However, that's not what I came here to say--School has started up for me again, and this year might be the busiest year yet, with me (hopefully) graduating at the end of it. This being said, expect updates to be even slower (sorryyyy).
Also, I happen to live near where Hurricane Harvey is hitting. Thankfully, I think we're far enough away from the coast to avoid serious damage, but it's been grey and rainy. I really hope the storm isn't too bad... But it's a hurricane.
HELLO, ALL!! I am happy to announce that I've been working on the next Piece for the past few days, and it should be done soon! I'm so excited! This stupid wait will finally end!
