Prepare for a huge wall of text. Feel free to skip to bottom for TL;DR.
A House of Idiots kind of started out as an experiment, a dabble in the waters of comic illustration, one might say. I was blown away by the overwhelmingly positive response to my work in this wonderful community, and I can't thank you all enough for all the kind words :D
I definitely plan on creating a more "serious" comic with the gang, maybe when I feel like I'm good enough to give it a shot.
However, I feel like the quality of my work has been going down lately, and I feel like I'm not performing up to standards. I mean, I'm not as proud of the episodes as I used to be, and the excitement of illustrating a comic series has kind of died down. Even updating has seemed to become a bit of a chore.
Don't get me wrong, I love drawing comics and stuff.. but i feel like my skills are.. sub-par at best. And it doesn't help that i always find myself rushing to complete updates in time, and that schoolwork is keeping me pretty occupied. ( how the heck will i survive in high school?) i don't even feel like i have much of right to complain, since others are managing to juggle high school work (some even COLLEGE) and still update more than i do.
I've also seem to run out of ideas.
Well, why make this post, you may ask? I dunno, just kinda wanted to share these thoughts.
PLEASE DON'T FEEL LIKE THE COMIC IS BEING CANCELLED OR STOPPED IN ANY WAY. I might just take a small break to regain some self-esteem and come up with ideas or whatever.
TL;DR feeling kinda bummed about comics
Thanks for reading and always being there,

oh man I completely understand, I'm in the same exact situation right now. I think it's important to remember that it's okay to feel that way, though. and it's okay to take a break. I'd suggest taking a break from the comic to focus more on art that you love. for example, make a list of some drawing ideas that you know you would enjoy drawing, and do it! don't rush yourself, just try to enjoy the moment. it helps! make some character sheets or drawings of your ocs, just fun little things to remind you of everything you love about them. and remember, we're all here for you! we'll still be here, and if you ever need someone to talk to, hmu, I'm available <3 or talk to someone you're already friends with, whichever works! good luck! :D
It's totally okay to take a break! Most artists do just that on a regular basis so they can take care of themselves, so don't feel like you have to overbook your schedule.
