Update: Currently working on the next few episodes. Yay.
Also, I found out some of my links on Tapas here were out of date which is very embarrassing hahaha. If you find anything else out of date, please let me know. Thanks!
You might be wondering, "where did Kevin go?!"... Well I'm writing to let you know that I have not yet died. I'm still alive and well and dealing with life one day at a time.
New Ascent episodes are somewhere in the back of my mind and I'm working on yanking them out at some point. So they will come, but please be patient, and in the meantime, there are a plethora of other wonderful comics to read on Tapas! Please enjoy your time with those! :)
The one piece of information I retained from your newsletter is that everyone should purchase Clip Studio Paint x)
I can understand the struggle between exploring new styles of art and continuing current projects. I think balancing the two is a valid choice. Good luck on all your artistic endeavors =)
I'm very excited to announce that I'm now selling a set of magnets in my shop! One is of Dimple (of course), and the other is the diver drawn in a chibi style.
Purchasing one will directly support me in making Ascent. So if you consider buying a set, thank you so much! If you don't buy one, thank you anyway!
Apologies for being MIA, I'm more active on Twitter (@keviokevio) and Instagram (@keviokevio). I would check Tapas more but the email notifications don't work for me for some reason (anyone know how to solve this issue??).
Anyway, you're awesome for sticking around! More updates to come.
Hi there! I'm looking to get a new tablet or cintiq so i'm asking around to see what people are using to create their art. i see you use a surface pro, how do you like it? would you recommend getting one? thanks!
Oops sorry for the late reply. You probably already made your decision, but if you haven't, here are my thoughts!..
I love my Surface Pro 4. It's Photoshop on the go. I wasn't able to work on my comic a lot at home so this was perfect for me. If you have the means of buying a Cintiq and you're at home a lot, that's the better option because more programs support the Cintiq, and the pen is marginally better. If you know anyone with a Surface, I would spend a few hours testing it out to see if it's too your liking. I was able to adapt to some of the inconsistencies, others may not be able to. Also note that Photoshop works excellent with it, most other programs are just so-so with it (ie. Animate, Illustrator). Haven't tried other painting programs. Do know that you WILL need to buy a separate keyboard to fully utilize it, and a mouse is super handy too.
Hope this helps! Sorry again for the late reply! And again, I love my Cintiq, but not everyone will love it as much as me. Any more questions feel free to email me at kevinlamdraws @ gmail.
Hey thanks for the reply! I did get a cintiq since I do most of my stuff at home. it's on its way! Thank you for the advice, it makes me feel like I made the right choice for me! I love your comic btw!!
