The rereads and edits are going smoothly, an handful of people are actually caught up, and I’m getting the next few chapters ready.
At this point, I feel comfortable resuming uploads on a weekly basis, though I will be making other changes if I can to try and increase production values (mostly more/better art).
Chapter 10 is going through editing now, and will be made public Friday, which will be the new update day going forward.
I want to thank everyone and anyone who is putting up with me while I try to get this story told. Scope creep is a real thing no matter what kind of creative work you’re making, and I’ve had to face facts that I may not have been ready for this undertaking. But having to go back and fix my mentally ill ramblings multiple times and learn project management on the fly has been more than worth it.
I was planning to go back to weekly updates, but I can see that nobody's caught up, so I'll be pausing new uploads in favor of revisions, marketing, and new illustrations. A major subplot is about to start, so I need to make sure I'm giving people the best possible impression.
Working on adding illustrations. I’ll be prioritizing key moments and/or chapters readers aren’t sticking around for. Look what just got added to the prologue!
Going on a short hiatus of no more than 1-2 weeks. My stats are showing a sharp dropoff after certain chapters, and nobody is caught up. While I do have a buffer and I could maintain my current upload schedule, it would be a better idea to circle back and try to fix and/or increase readership for what's already there.
I don’t like the idea of doing ‘announcement’ chapters or anything like that, but I’m making changes to the story structure to try and make it a little less slow paced.
This includes deleting what used to be chapter 3, since most of what came up in that chapter is now going to show up in the upcoming two chapters, and Hikari deserves a stronger introduction than that. Most folks shouldn’t notice, but I’m posting this so there’s no confusion.
