About That Ban...

So, in Bathurst, NB, there’s a ban that was set in place for Halloween. Only kids under 14 could go trick-or-treating and there is a curfew at 8. There’s talk about how it got ‘softened’ to anyone under 16 and a 9 PM curfew instead.
This was mainly done because of cases where older kids would bully the younger ones out of their candy. While this makes some sense, however, I think that putting an age limit bylaw may cause more teen mischief, since I didn’t find any alternatives provided for teens.
Personally, I grew out of t-o-t in my teens because of a health nut phase. I don’t quite remember what I did instead. Probably homework on week nights.
