"Hey, Max are you okay you were really, shaky? When Brittany came up with that guy. You need'a talk?" I ask.
"Yeah actually, um well Brit's been trying to set me up with some guy, but"
She started. "But I don't really like guys. I really prefer girls... which I know, I know it's weird and stuff and you probably hate me now so yeah uh I'm sorry, I'll just go!" She panicked. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to the grass.
"Hey it's all good Max, not weird at ALL!" I said calmly knowing she needed some comfort, and I know I shouldn't've but my heart was jumping up and down and doing cartwheels and flips and dances with twirls and leaps and an amazing finish. But I had to stay professional you know, for Max's sake.
"Hey I'll tell you a secret," I whispered to her, "I like girls too, I'm pan, what about you?" I ask Max. Her face lights up and then she cracks a smile and makes my face light up from the shine of her pretty laugh.
"Thanks Ky," Max thanks me, "I kinda needed you, and y'know what? You're better than my other friends!" Max declairs. "You're better because when I need you, you come and help me and when I need you to be with me you're there!" I smile, knowing that she 'needs me' and that I could help her.
"So lesbian?" I ask.
"Uhh, bi." She replies "but mainly girls! But some guys, It's confusing." She complains.
"Hey I hear ya there!" I laugh.
We end up laughing on the oval for awhile until we hear the P.E, teacher Mr. Lípos, scream at us across the field.
"OI GIRLS OFF THE PITCH! YEAR 9'S ARE PLAYING RUGBY! HEY AINT YA MEANT TO BE IN CLASS!?" He calls.
I look Max dead in the eyes, grab her hand and my backpack and yell
"RUN!" So we run off the fields and jump over the fence onto the foot path. We sprint down the streets and into the mall where we can finally catch out breath.
"... That was... crazy!" Max yelled between breaths.
"...YEAH...SO CRAZY!" I agree. "So," I pull $20 out of my pocket. "Boba?"
Max and I both jump up and run over to the 'Space Bubble' Boba shop in the mall.
We take our boba outside to sit at a beat up park, where we sit and enjoy our bubble tea.
