No one spoke as we waited for something to happen. Maybe it was Leon speaking again, the metallic sound of a blade being drawn from its sheath, or anything to give us a hint at their next moves. But there was nothing except there was deafening silence.
Shit did they-
With a loud bang and the sound of cracking wood, the door to my study had been kicked in and three hooded assassins rushed into the room, dust and debris from the large door scattering across the floor.
In that split second before the assassins reached us I saw the all too familiar long blonde hair of the dick I wished were dead for everything he’d done. Leon watched us with cold ice blue eyes as everything devolved into chaos. He turned away, walking away from the fight he had started. Determined to beat the living shit out of the arrogant ass for daring to turn his back on me, I raced forward only to feel the pain of being hit with something heavy.
A book?
I turned to find a curved rapier aiming at my chest, I yelped in surprise and jumped back. I had felt the air on that one. I looked back at the door, debating whether I should try and go after Leon. Another swipe at my abdomen solved that debate for me.
I can’t focus on anything else but my current opponent for now.
(Veron)
Time seemed to blur, it had been quite a while since I had come across someone this capable. It was exhilarating to have an opponent worth my time for once.
Perry, retaliate, dodge, repeat.
A grin slowly spread across my face, I had forgotten how much fucking fun this was.
I suppose Orilis wasn't kidding when he said Guild Virzas doesn't play around when it comes to skill, I thought, smirking.
Absolutely worth telling my Lorcs I couldn't pleasure him tonight.
Well, mostly. Almost. Partially.
From my position I could see both Orilis and Liv. Like the freakishly cunning man he was, Orilis had already figured out his opponents fighting style and cadence, dodging the attacks with ease.
To my left Liv was in the midst of trying to land a nonlethal blow on her opponent. No doubt to wring him of valuable information later on. But as she aimed for his shoulder he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the library's door breaking it in a similar fashion to the former study’s door that now lay in pieces.
Oh lovely. Orilis is going to be so pissed.
Pain lanced down my leg, I swore, immediately taking a step back from the offending knife and its owner.
I glared at the little man in front of me. It had happened too fast for me to counter and I hadn't been paying as much attention to him as I should have.
Damnit, we really are out of practice aren't we?
Readjusting my grip on my weapon I attacked with full force, aiming for the man's heart.
