The next day, Yin pulled up to the school with Otoki and her mother, Ms. Risho. The older woman already looked exhausted and irritated, not wanting to deal with the ramblings of what the principal or Mr. Utose had.
Last night, Yin had to sit through a nearly two-hour lecture from Ms. Risho after hearing what he did to Higane Utose.
“I feel bad for Mitsuki Risho if this is what he has to go through on a daily basis.”
“Mitsuki,” Ms. Risho called out to her son. “Walk straight.”
Yin straightened himself without saying anything.
The Risho Family hurried over to the principal’s office where Mr. Utose and his daughter were waiting.
Both the principal and Mr. Utose stared at Yin as if he were a criminal responsible for many gruesome murders. But it was not their glares that even registered in the spirit’s mind—it was the eyes of Higane Utose that caught his attention.
Despite being in a different body and having a different appearance, Yin was able to recognize Yang’s spiritual presence from anywhere. He knew instantly that the girl standing before him was Yang of the Spirit World, not Higane Utose.
Yang also had the same realization when she saw Mitsuki Risho. Knowing very well that her partner was alright, she could not help but smile from ear to ear. Her precious grin made the small boy blush and look away in embarrassment.
“Now then.”
The principal spoke up to gain everyone’s attention.
“How should we proceed with this dilemma?”
“Usually, I demand compensation through payment,” Mr. Utose declared while fixing the tie to his expensive-looking suit. “But at the same time, I am also fully aware that the Risho Family is having a bit of a…dry spell when it comes to money, correct?”
Ms. Risho twitched in bitterness, but ultimately kept her real thoughts. She bowed her head and replied, “Yes sir.”
The irritation of Ms. Risho did not go unnoticed by Mr. Utose and he loved the fact that his comment got under her skin. Even the glare from Otoki filled with such triumphant. However, the nonchalant stare from Mitsuki Risho was throwing him slightly off.
“Instead of just wasting time for a court hearing, I will let this all go if you three will go down on your knees, put your heads to the ground, and apologize for the harm you have caused my daughter.”
“With all due respect sir,” Ms. Risho spoke up. “The one who harmed your daughter was my foolish son. Shouldn’t he be the only one to bow and apologize?”
Mr. Utose scoffed.
“You are his mother correct?”
“Yes—“
“And you raised him correct?”
“W-well yes but—“
“So whatever actions he has displayed, he learned it from his house. I don’t really see this boy as a problem child but a victim of awful parenting.”
Ms. Risho gritted her teeth.
“I-is that so…?”
“And also a failure of supervision from his older sister,” Mr. Utose said as he pointed at Otoki. “Are you not to watch and guard your brother?”
Otoki sighed and made no reply.
“I will not repeat myself. I demand you all to bow and apologize from the bottom of your heart—or will face this dilemma in court. And I think we all know how that will end.”
“…Yes sir.”
Just before the three members of the Risho Family could even kneel down, Yang went to the center of the room.
“Hold on father!”
Mr. Utose raised an eyebrow in confusion.
“What is it, Higane?”
“This isn’t right,” Yang stated. “There is more to what happened between me and Risho than you know.”
“W-what are you talking about?”
“Yeah, what are you talking about, Yang?” Yin questioned in his head. “I honestly have no issues bowing down and apologizing as long as we can get out of this situation already. Don’t make things more complicated!”
“The truth is…”
Yang ran up to Yin and embraced him in a hug. Everyone in the room looked at the two high school students in confusion.
“Me and Mitsuki Risho…are dating!!!”
The room was quiet for a few seconds. The first sound was the shrieks of Ms. Risho and Mr. Utose. The principal’s mouth was left agape while Otoki looked as if his brain stopped working.
Yin glanced up at Yang with a flushed face—his head caught in between her breasts.
“Y-Yang!?” Yin shouted in the corridors of his mind. “What are you scheming!?”
Yang looked down at Yin and winked.
