Otoki Risho approached the bed and sat right on the nearest chair. Her arms were folded as she gave her brother a look of disappointment.
Little did she know, that the person she was about to converse with was not her little brother but a spirit from the other side.
“What is your problem?” Otoki said with a rough voice. “Tackling a female student from behind? Are you on drugs?”
“W-what?”
Yin replied, his voice full of confusion. He truly had no idea what was going on.
Otoki scoffed in response to Yin—well, Mitsuki’s cluelessness.
“Don’t play dumb with me! It’s all over the school on how you attacked Higane Utose! Higane. Utose! Out of all the people in the school you could’ve messed with you decided to mess with the daughter of one of the most influential companies in Shibuaya!?”
“What is she talking about?” Yin said aloud in his mind. “I need to shift through Mitsuki’s memories to understand.”
Yin quickly dove back into the void—which in truth was the world of Mitsuki’s consciousness. The darkness became less thick and an actually seeable room became present. The world had transformed into a messy bedroom with nothing but papers and clothes all over the floor. Even the bed was messy and broken in half.
“This boy’s mental state is…not good.”
Yin then went over to a single piece of paper that was glowing and picked it up from the floor.
“This is the most recent memory!”
The masked boy read all the words in the paper and became fully aware of the string of events that took place before he possessed Mitsuki Risho. Once he fully understood he nodded and returned to the real world, still using the body of the boy he had taken over.
He cleared his throat and spoke in a very dignified manner.
“Well, sister, the truth of the matter is that Higane Utose and her friends barged into our room causing trouble. They through our comics to the ground, physically assaulted us, and threatened to disband our club. I admit that my actions were unbecoming of me, but I simply could not contain myself. I am deeply sorry for the trouble I caused.”
Yin bowed his head after finishing his statement. After a few seconds of silence, he looked back up at Otoki who was staring at him with widened eyes.
“W-what…?”
“U-uh…nothing,” Otoki replied, completely losing his composure. “I just didn’t expect you to give me such an excuse. You usually…don’t say anything.”
“Does this Mitsuki boy not tell his family about how he is being treated in school?” Yin asked himself. “I need to scan through his memories when I have the time.”
Otoki sighed and turned back to her brother with a frown.
“Listen Mitsuki, even if what you said is true there is no way you can get out of this unscathed. The Utose Family will demand some sort of retribution from us or from the school. Higane was also knocked and was taken to the hospital.”
“The hospital?” Yin said in surprise. “But I didn’t hit her that hard? Why?”
“Higane was unconscious, just like you and word has it that she just recently woke up.”
Yin’s eyes widened.
“How…how long has it been since I was knocked out?”
Otoki answered, “It’s been four hours.”
“And me and Utose were knocked out at the same time?”
“Yes…why does that matter?”
Inwardly, Yin was starting to freak out.
“That must mean…Yang is in that girl’s body! Oh no! She is the most unstable spirit to have a vessel! She will without a doubt blow her cover or even worse—damage that body beyond repair! She was never the one to understand limits! Especially when it came to the limits of humans—”
“Mitsuki!”
“Ah! What!?”
“Stop spacing out! And if you are well enough let’s go home so that you can explain this situation to Mother!”
“H-huh? Right now? Wait—can I visit Utose to see if she alri—”
“Are you stupid? You are the reason she is in the hospital in the first place! You have no right to her see! Just wait until school tomorrow—Higane Utose’s father demanded a meeting with you, Mother, and the principal.”
Yin let out a heavy sigh in defeat and rose out of the bed. He said goodbye to the nurse and walked right behind his sister. All the students stared at him, whispering about the events that took place three hours ago, but Yin could care little about that.
“Yang…please tell me you are okay…”
