The next day, Lucas and the others that followed in made their way to the castle to meet with the king and told him what happened with Naki and Eiden.
From the sounds of it, the king was not happy about the outcome.
“YOU LET HIM GO?!” the king yelled as Lucas didn’t say a word as hes overwhelmed by all of this. So Ubuvu was speaking for him.
“We had no choice your highness if you would let us explain-”
“Naki has a hold one of my greatest men and you let him run lose?! Unacceptable! This chosen of yours has done nothing for us!”
Hudson steps in as he defends Lucas.
“This would’ve been a problem if Naki has a hold of my son! You should know that the soldier is Lucas’ brother for god sake!”
The argument rises as Lucas can feel the tension get strong as he’s having a hard time hiding his emotions. Ubuvu and Mike noticed this as Lucas starts to storm off so no one can see him. Mike tries to catch up to him but as Lucas made it outside, he flew away.
“LUCAS WAIT!” Mike yelled. But its too late, Lucas is already gone.
Lucas was flying away from the situation. But all of the things the king said to Lucas start to swim across Lucas’ head as well as what Mike said to him as being pathetic. As all of this gets to much for Lucas, he couldn’t control his flight as he can’t consecrate. Then, he crash lands to the ground. Unfazed by the crash he just curls into a ball and starts crying as he can’t keep it in anymore. Mike was following Lucas behind as he struggles to fly as he semi crash lands to the ground. And meets up to Lucas to check up on him.
“Hey, are you okay?” Mike asked as he looks concerned. “Whats wrong?”
“I-I can’t take this anymore!” Lucas cried as he sits up. “All of this is too much! I couldn’t save everyone!” Lucas tucks his head under his hands as he sniffles.
“The kings right….I’m no hero.”
Mike and Ubuvu looked at each other as Mike wanted to sock the King of Tree Oak Grove for saying those things. Ubuvu breaks the silence.
“Lucas. Do you ever wondered why I’ve chose you?” Ubuvu asked as Lucas looks up.
“The reason why I chose you isn’t because you're some chosen one. It because you fascinated me. When we first met I didn’t think someone at your age would bravely find me, knowing the dangers. I scenes great potential in you. And since the day we met, you’ve change so much from before.”
“…y-you think so?” Said Lucas as he lifts up his head.
“Lucas you took charge of stopping some loon from taking over the kingdom!” Mike said to add somethings he noticed about Lucas. “That was a pretty big deal.”
Lucas smiles as he wipes the tears off his face. “Hey come here.” Mike offers Lucas a hug as Lucas hugs back.
“I’m sorry what I’ve said to you yesterday.” Mike apologized “you’re doing an amazing job, just don’t forget your only a human ok?”
“Ok.” Lucas responed as they stepped back.
“Now, lets go back to Hudson. And maybe walk this time? You made flying look easy.”
“Hehe Sure.”
ucas and Mike make their way back to town where Hudson is waiting for them to arrive.
“Hey there Lad, are you alright?” Hudson asked.
“Yeah. Sorry for storming off like that.”
Hudson pats Lucas on the shoulder.
“Its ok Lucas. Don’t let the kings words get to you, you’re doing your best. I mean what did that old coot has done for you?”
“Heh yeah.”
“Never mind him” said Hudson. “Now that you’re back, did Eiden say anything to you before you left?”
“Well…he did say something about a castle.” As Lucas said something about a castle, Ubuvu’s brain clicked as he realized what he was talking about.
“I know what Eiden was trying to say!” said Ubuvu “Naki is hiding out where no one could think of, my old home.”
“The empty town…right then, we’ll get ready to confront Naki and save your brother.”
Lucas looked liked he had other plans as he wanted to do a different approach at this.
“Uuh…Actually pa. I had something else planned.” Said Lucas as he looks nervous. “ I thought maybe I go at this alone. I mean I’m not saying I don’t want help, I thought I handel this myself so Naki wouldn’t notice.”
“Oh I don’t know lad.” Hudson vetoed “going on your own could be dangerous. Who knows what Naki could pull if you go on your own. Let me form a team for you for this, please?”
Lucas looked like he was going to go against the idea. But he couldn’t come up with a reason why as he has his head down and sighs.
“Fine.”
“I’ll meet you back at the base when you’re ready lad.”
Hudson and Mike make their way to the kingdom to get ready to find Naki and settle this as Ubuvu didn’t say a word in this until he spoke.
“NO.”
“Huh?”
“you're right about this.” Ubuvu agreed. “Naki could be expecting you with an army that big. Plus, this is very personal for you. Its best that we go this alone.
Back at home Lucas peeks over the front door to see the coast is clear. Once he sees no signs of Mike, Hudson or his friends, he steps out of the door way with a sword on his back as he gets ready to take flight.
“I’m sorry everyone, but I have to do this by myself.” Said Lucas as he takes off flying, making his way to Eiden.
