The chapter will begin on something different. A flashback if you will as he see Lucas whos a bit younger and is wearing a red shirt with a long sleeve shirt under it that has a hoodie that looks a little too big on him as hes sitting outside looking at the stars as he gently rocks back and forth with a dragon plushie in hand. Lucas hums to himself as he seems to be in his own world. Until someone familiar steps in and talks to him.
“Hey there kid” Lucas looks back and sees Mike whos wearing a simiular uniform that Lucas wears during training. But instead of a green cape hes wearing a blue scarf as a star shaped pendent is keeping it from falling off his neck.
“You must be Lucas, General Hudson’s son right?” he asked as Lucas nods as he looks a little nervous to say anything.
“Is it alright if I join ya?” Mike asked as Lucas musters up the courage to speak.
“I-I guess so.” Lucas replied as Mike joins Lucas gazing at the stars. Mike keeps his distance though to give Lucas some space as he knew hes kinda shy meeting someone new.
“Hey, I wanted to come here and say that I’m sorry I didn’t get to you in time.” Mike said as Lucas looks at him in confusion.
“I went to rest my feet for a minute earlier.” Mike continues “You called out for help and they didn’t listen. This isn’t what I had in mind when I joined.”
Lucas recognize Mike as he remembered helping him get out that trap that was set up. No one knew what it was set up for as its still a mystery to them to this day.
“Oh….it’s ok.” Said Lucas
“You forgive me?” Mike asked as Lucas nods in respone, starting to warm up twords Mike as Mike chuckles.
“Heh, you’re a good kid.” Mike said as he gets ready to pat Lucas on the back but he quickly noticed that Lucas doesn’t want him to as he braces for it and Mike quickly moves his hand away. “Oh hehe, sorry. My bad.”
Mike and Lucas both enjoy the view again until Mike said something.
“Say, are you a story type kid?”
“Yeah” Lucas replied with his eyes lit up. Mike points at the sky as he talks about a tiny planet.
“See that pink and blue globe there?”
“Uh huh.”
“You’ll like this one. Its about this planet.”
Cut to present day as it is daytime as Lucas was just sitting under the tree watching the cloulds go by. Not in his uniform anymore as hes wearing the same clothes but a green shirt on this time as Lucas and Ubuvu take in the silents listening to his surroundings as he hears the birds sing and the citizens of Tree Oak Grove going about their day from afar. It was peacful until a woman was calling for Lucas.
“Lucas!” Olivia yelled “can you come here for a moment?”
Lucas sits up and response “yeah, I’ll be right there.” As he gets up and meets up with his mother.
“Think you can do me a favor?” Olivia asked “I was gonna get some things for supper but something came up. I asked you’re brother for help but he was busy. Do you think you can do the chores for me?”
Lucas looked like he hasn’t have anything better to do since nothing crazy happened yet as he decides to help Olivia out.
“Sure, I guess I can help.” Lucas replied.
“Thank you Lucas. Here.” She hands Lucas two things.
“Heres the list I need for tonight. And here is the gold for it. If theres any left over feel free to get something for yourself.”
“Thanks mum.” Said Lucas as he puts the money away.
“Becareful now!”
“I will.”
Olivia and Lucas wave goodbye at each other as he leaves to town as she watches him leave with a worried look on her face. Hudson was about to leave the house as she noticed Oliva looking like she has something to say.
“Something wrong my sweet?” Hudson asked “you look troubled?”
“Oh. Its Lucas.” Olivia replied “don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the king has his reasons but…hes only a kid. I worry that this whole being a hero thing might be too much for him. You know what I’m saying?”
“I see what you mean Mo ghràdh (my love).” Hudson replied as he holds Olivia’s hand. “I tend to wonder the same thing since I found Lucas with it. I promise to make sure he doesn’t fall into that pit of making sure he has to be the perfect hero.”
Olivia sighs as they both give each other a kiss.
“Thank you Hudson.”
Lucas was walking in the town as he starts to do the chores for Olivia.
“I hope its alright we do a little bit of chores Ubuvu?” Lucas asked.
“No worries.” Ubuvu replied “I think using today to take a breather is quite alright. It’ll give me a chance what this town is like and plus, you’d be surpised of how patience my brother is.”
Ubuvu looks at the list that Lucas is clinging on to make sure he doesn’t lose it.
“Say, whats on the list she wrote?” Ubuvu asked.
“Lets see…”
Lucas looks at the list she wrote as it looked fine so far until he saw the words “sheep stomach” was written down as Lucas had the look of discomfort on his face as he realized what shes making.
“Oh…its hagese…” Lucas said with disappointment.
“Ah. One of Mythara’s famous dishes.” Said Ubuvu.
“Yeah…”
As you can tell Lucas isn’t quite a fan of it as the texture of the food that causes a over stimulation as he sighs in defeat and folds the list up.
“Well, better get to it then.” Said Lucas as he looks around the market to think where to go first. Right as he made his decision he heard a familiar voice call to him.
“There ya are lad! Hey Lucas!”
Lucas looks back and sees Isobel making her way to him, looking a little puzzled about something.
“Oh Halo (hello) Isobel!” Lucas respond as he noticed she looks lost.
“Whats going on?”
“You know how you promised to find Suzy for Jerry earlier?”
“Oh..right. U-um do you think that can wait a little longer? I have to help mum with her shopping.” Said Lucas as he kinda felt bad about it.
“We would, but the thing is were calling off the search.”
Lucas and Ubuvu looked at each other in confusion. They can’t give up on Suzy that fast can’t they?
“Wh-why? What happened?” Lucas asked as he looks a little lost.
“Erm…why don’t you come with me and see it youreself.”
Isobel leads Lucas to go see what shes talking about, as they meet up with the group Lucas sees Suzy talking to Zane and everyone else in the group. But oddly enough, they’re human again but shes not as hyper or enernic as usual as they’re too calm about all this.
“It’s nice to see you again.” Said Suzy as they sound “excited” to see them. But Lucas can scenes somethings off but he can’t quite put his finger on it as he doesn’t know Suzy enough.
“So. Thats Suzy?” Lucas asked.
“Yeah…but all of this isn’t right.” Said Isobel as she finds this very off putting as Jerry noticed Lucas making his way over.
“Oh hey you’re here!” said Jerry “hey Suzy! I would like you to meet Lucas. The one who saved me from Naki’s control.”
Suzy looks at Lucas for a minute and smirks as they make their way towards him an offers Lucas a handshake.
“It’s nice to meet you Lucas.” Said Suzy. Ubuvu notice upon speculation, Suzy’s eyes are colored red. He knew Naki is behind all of this as he squints is suspicion. not saying a word yet as Lucas shakes Suzy’s hand.
“N-nice to see you too..?” he said as he sounds like hes asking a question.
While the kids are talking, Isobel pulls Zane out of the group to talk to him.
“Don’t you find this a little off to you?” Isobel asked.
“Whats off?” Zane asked in confusion.
“Suzy. She was gone all day and suddenly they appear like nothing happened!”
Zane looks at Suzy and the others and shrugs.
“W-well.. I don’t know.”
“Zane, listen. Suzy was gone since they were taken. Comeback from dissapearing, and never explains why they were gone for so long. Hells, shes not acting like herself!”
“….now that you’ve mentioned it, they aren’t as spunky as they usually are.”
“See! Do I ever lie?”
“No I never said you’re a lair. Look, Jerry seems happy that Suzy is here and I don’t want to ruin it. If she starts acting different or becomes a monster of some sort, we know what to do.”
Isobel nods. While they were having a private conversation, Suzy was pestering Lucas about something.
“Hey it was nice to see you but I gotta-” before Lucas can excuse himself, Suzy cut him off.
“Aww already? We were just getting started.” They said as obviously they are keeping Lucas from going. “Hey, how about you give us a grand tour will ya?”
Lucas felt awkward about all this as he really wants to leave.
“Well I-”
“Come on please?”
“I’d love to but-”
Lucas gets cut off again as Suzy took it as a yes and gets everyone’s attention.
“Awesome! Come on guys!”
“NO! Wait- I- oh..” Lucas tries to stop Suzy but looks defeated as he looks like hes going to give them a tour around his home town. But Isobel steps in an knew that Suzy forced him to do the tour.
“Now thats not the Suzy that I know.” She says as she looks at Lucas.
“Don’t worry lad, we’ll make sure you get to do you’re shopping routine.
“Thank you Isobel.” Said Lucas.
