A few days ago long before Lucas claimed the spirit orb. We follow a group of explorers as they seem to be making their way to their destination. A young woman with a blue cape seems to be leading the group as she looks at the others.
“I’m surprised Abby will let you two come with us.” Said Isobel “but you gotta tread carefully alright? This could be dangerous.”
She was talking to the two kids Jerry and Suzy as they both looked two years apart from each other as Suzy is very energetic while Jerry is pretty cautious of his surroundings.
“Don’t worry.” Suzy “You can trust us, I’ll keeping an sharp eye”
“Still, I don’t know if its a good idea…” Jerry responds as he has his arms crossed looking worried.
Another traveler dressed in blue and red clothing pats Jerry on the shoulder as he tires to reassure Jerry.
“Hey don’t threat none.” Said Zane “as long as we’re here theres nothing to worry.”
“As long as you don’t do anything crazy.” Isobel responds in a playful tease.
Isobel focus on the path ahead and sees Suzy already ahead of them as they spot something from afar.
“OH OH! I think I see it!” Suzy yelled as the group tries to catch up to them. Soon they're seeing what Suzy spotted. The tombstone of the fallen kings. But not king Ubuvu’s, but king Naki’s tomb as the group stares at it in awe.
“There it is.” Said Zane “one of the tombstones.”
“Well, we better not delay further. Lets have a look”
The group makes their way to the shrine as Zane stops for a momment as he can fell something is off. He can feel a presence of someone looking at them, judging them as he can hear what it sounds like a male voice whispering to himself. Zane puts his arm out making Jerry stop.
“Zane? Whats wrong?”
“Something isn’t right here..”
Right as Zane warned Jerry something is wrong, a loud voice booms as this alerts the whole group.
“UNWROTHY TRESPASSERS!” the voice yelled “none of you are worthy of my power!” the voice begans to reval themselves as it is Naki in his beast form as he placed his claws on top of the statue looking like hes about to pounce at them for making their way to his grave. “Leave now, or meet your end.”
“Get them out of here now!” Isobel yelled as she looks like shes getting ready to fight the monster. Zane gets Jerry to run as he looks back to see if Suzy will follow his lead. But they aren’t as they are frozen in fear as Naki makes his way twords them.
“Very well.” Said Naki “lets see if your up for it, little one.”
“SUZY NOO!”
In a panic Zane bolts for Suzy and pushes them out of the way, taken their place as Naki swings. Instead of hitting Suzy, he hits Zane leaving him slashes againt Zane’s chest as Zane clings on and sees hes bleeding out badly. He looks at Suzy as they witness Zane get attacked as Zane can only muster up one word
“R-run!” he collapsed to the ground and passes out.
Zane can hardly hear whats happening as his friends are panicking and telling them to go find Abby. But it starts to blurr as Zane starts to wake up. He gasps for air as he jumps up awake
“GUYS!” Zane yelled out as a felt a small pain in his stomach as he wraps his arms around himself bracing for it as Donnie witness Zane jumping put of the bed to check up on him.
“Whoa take it easy lad!” said Donnie “you’re still recovering!”
Zane takes a look at himself and relized hes a bandaged up as he looks around and sees that he was taken to a room and sees his old clothes destroyed in order to get the wound all patched up.
“Where am I?” Zane asked
“The recovery room. Izzy told us what happened when you our out. By the way, someone wanted to speak to you when you wake up. Here, let me help you”. Donnie helps Zane up as he opens the door to be greeted with the general of Tree Oak Grove himself as he was just about to check up with Zane.
“Oh, youre awake.” Said Hudson “good. I want to talk to you about an incident your friends told me while you were resting.”
“Oh ok.” Zane responds
“Now, before I let you go I would like to ask if you can remember what the monster looked like so we can keep an eye out for?”
Zane tries to remember what the monster looked like as it happened so fast. So, he did his best explaining what it looked like.
“Well..it looked like a bat but…it was…human looking?”
“Human looking huh?” Hudson responds.
“Yes sir and it had a nasty scar on its left eye.”
Hudson thinks on what Zane described for a moment as it sounds awfully similar to one of the Hubatian kings that fell years ago.
“Interesting.” Said Hudson “well, thats all I need to know. Be careful now and stay safe.”
The group were waiting for Zane and Donnie outside of the recovery room to get some air as Suzy just sits next to Jerry with Chip on their lap as they felt guilty of what happened to Zane. Until the group starts to hear Zane and Donnie’s foot steps make their way to the door as the two of them steps out of the building as Zane was using his arms to hide the bandages as he didn’t want to bring attention to himself.
“Zane?!”
“Isobel?!”
Isobel makes a run for Zane as she looks relived that Zane is alive.
“ZANE YOURE OK!” Izzy yelled as she hugs Zane. She takes off the cape and puts it around him.
“Here. Put this on.”
“Oh you don’t have to.” Zane reponds as he noticed Suzy making their way towords them with guilt as Suzy doesn’t say anything yet.
“Suzy?”
Suzy ran up to Zane and hugs him as well and apologizes.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve run but I couldn’t-“
Zane pat them on the head. “Hey hey its ok. I just wanted to comeback unharmed. Plus, I’m still here. Everything turned out fine ok?”
Suzy wipes the tears off their face and nods in response.
“Now.” Zane continues “I need to find some new clothes.”
“Don’t worry.” Isobel responds “I’m already ahead of ya.”
Everyone makes their leave as Hudson waves at the group. But he still ponders of what Zane witnessed.
“That monster he was talking about did awfully familiar.” He thought to himself “But he won’t believe a word I say if I told him. Perhaps
I’ll report it as a beast sighting for now and find out myself.”
