“Oh good, you're up.”
Yin had to try hard to open his heavy eyelids. Once his eyes were completely open, he saw a white ceiling and electric lights flickered on and off.
“What on earth?”
He then rose up from whatever bed he was resting on—as he did, a quick ping of discomfort reverberated through his skull. Yin sucked in all the air through his teeth and clutched the side of his head, trying to ease the irritation.
“Argh!”
“Relax, Mr. Risho. You had a nasty fall.”
A female nurse with a tired expression walked into view. She approached Yin and began shining a small flashlight into his eyes, which annoyed him.
“Hey! What’s your problem lady!?”
“Your eyes seem okay but I’m going to ask you some questions to make sure your brain is alright.”
The nurse put the flashlight away and stared at Yin.
“What is your name?”
“My name?”
“Yes, what is your first and last name? Do you remember?”
“Of course! It’s Y—“
Yin quickly went silent as his eyes trailed off into the distance. They landed on a huge medicine caddy that had a glass door that showcased all the complicated labeled bottles. Thanks to the glass, Yin could see his reflection.
His skin was no longer as white as chalk but a very light skin with a yellow tone. The hair on the top of Yin’s head was no longer gray but was blonde while being slightly messier. And his eyes were golden as if his red pupils were replaced with golden coins. The only similarities between the flesh that Yin was currently inside of and his original form were the height and the oversized sleeves.
“I see…”
Yin recognized the face of the body he was inhabiting, it was the naked boy who he saw in the void.
As a spirit, Yin had the ability to take control of a vessel of flesh. Granted this was the very first time he had ever done such a thing.
“My name is…Mitsuki Risho?”
Yin said with his voice lacking confidence. The nurse raised her eyebrows in suspicion.
“Why did you say it like it was a question? Are you not sure?”
“Sorry, I’m just a little out of it. It’s Mitsuki Risho, right? Mitsuki Risho, yes, I know that.”
“…Yes, your name is Mitsuki Risho. Now just sit tight, I'm going to call your sister.”
Yin cleared his throat and retreated into his thoughts.
“He has a sister?”
At the same instance the nurse was going towards the phone, the front doors burst open.
“Oh, never mind, I guess she’ll just come here on her own.”
Stomping into the nurse’s office was a teenage girl who looked a few years older than Mitsuki. She was a beautiful girl with long blonde hair and the same golden eyes. She stared at Mitsuki with a face that showcased annoyance.
“You’ve really done it now, Mitsuki.”
