"Well, another runt has arrived. Thought the old man only had one..." The obviously oldest of the group was a boy around fourteen. He had a small scar across his lip that was more prone to get him bullied than feared. He wore a deep blue cloak and a cruel smirk. "It seems the info was wrong, too bad." The boy bent down and picked up his cheap wooden staff which had dried blood flaking off with each small movement. He locked eyes with me while retaining that same sinister smile and said "I can make an exception. Boys, this one too."
Strange. In my past life, a situation like this would make me want to run away or hide somewhere. At least panick. But right now, all I feel is rage. These kids come to my uncles home to kill his disciple, my friend, Jesper. The one friend I've made since being born here. Now they think they will claim my life as well? I met his gaze with a look of my own. The look of pity. "Death will be too kind for you, I can tell. The others can have it, but you... You will suffer."
I activated Fulgur Impetum, giving it the command to kill all but the eldest boy who weilded the staff. All it took was a single command and five bodies dropped to the ground lifeless. Each one with a single clean hole through their head. All that was heard was a single yelp from the eldest boy as he was surprised by the flash of light. He didn't realize what it meant at first.
He simply stood there, not able to move. His face slowly came to show that he understood what had happened. He seemed to understand now, that his actions wouldn't go unpunished. I watched as his knees gave out below him. He dropped his staff to the ground beside him in order to catch himself on his way down. His eyes began to water, as he prostrated himself before me on the ground. It was pitiful watching him like this, groveling at the feet of someone less than half his age.
"You killed him, did you not?" I stared at him waiting for an answer, all I got was an exhausted whimper as he further crumpled himself up on the ground. "You wish for death? Very well. Fulgur, this one too."
Embark on a Journey with a young man who's never felt power of his own. Join Drol as he strives to find the last of the dragon race, uncover hidden secrets, and build his strength to the top.
