Koran kept his eyes on me, as if he expected me to be completely fine with killing a dragon only months after beginning my training, most of which was focusing on my body. NOT my magic. ugh... And on top of all that, HOW DO YOU KILL A DRAGON? Alright, one thing at a time. So... I kill the dragon, it's powers become mine. I'll have ice and lightning in my arsenal. I guess that's not so bad, I could see a few unique combonations i could use ice and lightning with. Lightning should win out, I have speed on my side at least. Alright, fine. Let's do this. I lifted my head, meeting Koran's gaze. My decision was made, so now let's hope i can live up the the hopes of well.. me.
"Young one," Koran's eyes were feirce, but they held a gentle light that promised protection "just know that if you are unable to defeat this dragon, just call out to me and I will finish the fight for you. However, only if you kill the dragon yourself will you recieve his powers. If I land the killing blow, His soul will dissapate into nothingness and no one will gain anything but peace from his death." Another tremor ran through the room we were in, likely through the entire building as well. "Time is up, if you wish to embrace your bloodline and strive for power, then you must defeat that dragon. My assistance is nothing more than a last resort, and even then, victory is not assured." He set his hand on my shoulder, his grip firm but caring in a way. I could feel his mana rushing into me, being converted into my own then rushing into my core. As more and more of his mana was refined and converted into my own, another set of wisps appeared around us. These were different from when i had first discovered them. Almost.. alive. They seemed to react to the situation and they almost urged me to claim one of them for the battle ahead. I could feel that Koran's mana had increased the size of my mana pool by several times. But the wisps were right, it wouldn't be enough.
Instead of simply reaching out with my hand like i did when i was an infant, this time i sent pulses of my lightning attribute infused mana out, letting the mana itself guide me towards which skillset will be most suited for my power. What happened instead though, was incredible. Every wisp my mana passed through, I recieved information on what spells they were carrying. I could see if it was compatible with me, and how much each ability would cost in terms of mana and skill. Each of the wisps were each a building block of a major spell or class, but it can't be that simple can it?
It can't be... I recalled all my mana, leaving the room almost baren of mana other than the wisps floating around. Then I had my mana form a thread starting from my index finger, I weaved it through each of the matching wisps, making its way towards the biggest one in the room. Sadly this chain wasn't of the lightning element, however it didn't seem to offer any resistance from my mana, so i'm not complaining too much. As the thread of mana came into contact with the largest wisp in the room, everything seemed to come into focus. Slowly, but insanely quickly at the same time, all of the smaller wisps fell into each other like dominos, creating a larger and larger wisp until I could almost feel the heat emanating from it. Then, I grabbed it.
Embark on a Journey with a young man who's never felt power of his own. Join Drol as he strives to find the last of the dragon race, uncover hidden secrets, and build his strength to the top.
