(As Tyler and the others got into the elevator, Elaina was farther down the hallway and started sensing where the three women were: getting a migraine in the process. Elaina groans in pain.)

Elaina: What is this? It hurts…

Alvin: You’re adapting what you can possess, but I can no longer keep control of.

(Elaina was shocked to hear Alvin’s voice as she was walking.)

Elaina: Alvin… Is it… really you?

Alvin: It is. Sorry we have to talk this way. Before I explain this, you must get to the women. The closest patient is Iyana. 5^th floor.

Elaina: What about Squeak?

Alvin: The traitor that took her has a long way from where his location is. His location is on the 13^th floor. The elevator for the higher floors does not work. He will take the stairs; we’ll get to Amy next.

Elaina: What about Seven and Nix?

Alvin: They are on the other side of the basement. Yvette is almost there. Benjamin hasn’t done anything with Iola yet. We will get to them last.

(Elaina was able to find the elevator she was in previously. She got in and pressed the 5^th floor button; the elevator doors closed.)

Elaina: What did your ex-co-workers do to you? What did they connect you with?

Alvin: Dharkas. It was… something we couldn’t fathom that would be created. Johann Vernek is the one who thought of the concept of making this entity many years ago; something that was of a legendary myth. A shadow that couldn’t be killed by traditional means and thrives for a suitable host in order to survive. I came to understand that an unstable patient is unable to control this entity and are killed by it. With direct and indirect contact, it leads to further instability of the psyche. The day I was supposed to come back home, I was connected to Dharkas two days prior. I thought it was going to kill me in that moment, but to my amazement—even Marvin’s amazement—it bonded with me; it gained a conscience. But now… It wants to consume me. It’s evolving.

(Elaina reached the 5^th floor and walked out the elevator. The hall was dark. Elaina’s flashlight and gun were pointed in the direction she was slowly walking down the long hallway.)

Elaina: How is it consuming you?

Alvin: My mind. The sanity I have left is what it’s consuming. The day Dharkas and I bonded, we went on a rampage that led to the chemical explosion underground.

Elaina: Well, that explosion ripped through a huge portion of the building. Almost taking your whole office with it.

Alvin: I see. That rampage cost me greatly. My sanity and brain function are declining.

Elaina: But you’re talking to me just fine. You still know who I am and Evee.

Alvin: You both suppress the consumption when I reside within. This is a curse. Dharkas is a curse, but I can’t have it out in the open.

Elaina: What do you suggest?

Alvin: I… must keep it. And if I do…

Elaina: They’ll try to find you and contain you?

Alvin: Yes.

Elaina: But you said keeping it will put you on a mental decline, and I can’t let that happen!

Alvin: Unfortunately, I have no choice. I can’t have anyone else suffer from this nor can I let them have it back…  

(Elaina wanted to protest more but had a feeling Alvin’s mind was made up and chose not to continue.)

Elaina: …Will they try to find us?

Alvin: They will try, but those documents in my office will help you against them.

(Elaina looked around the area she was in.)

Elaina: Always one step ahead. Where do I go from here?

Alvin: In the morgue’s autopsy room to your left.

(Elaina went into the direction Alvin told her. She found the door to the morgue and opened it slowly to not make a noise.)

(Twitch slowly began to wake up. As she came to, she was naked, tied and bound to a gurney. She looked around and figured out where she was, in the morgue’s incinerator room. She saw that Daniel was nowhere in sight, but the felt a sharp pain in the back of her leg making her wince in pain. She felt drips coming down from her leg, then felt a tongue lick over the wound. She picked her head up to see Daniel licking and sucking blood out of her wound. Daniel then locked eyes with Twitch; she became wide eyed with panic.)

Daniel: Oh… Iyana… You bleed so well for me. Ever since you came here, I’ve always wanted you for myself. I’ve always wanted to know how you tasted. And this is the day I get to experience that.

(Daniel then sticks Twitch’s blade into Twitch’s right shoulder making her shout in pain. He takes her blade out and licks the blood off it. He then cuts the ties from the gurney and lift Twitch onto an incinerator slab by her bounds.)

Twitch (angrily): I-If I get out, you are fucking dead!

(Daniel picked up his electrical saw and held it at Twitch’s throat and chuckled.)

Daniel: I doubt you’ll kill me.

(He moves his saw from her throat.)

Daniel: Because you will be cooking and feeding me; and I will enjoy every piece of you. So, you go in… AND COOK!

(Daniel closed Twitch in the incinerator and activated it. The moment he turned around, he was hit in the face with the butt of Elaina’s gun and was pushed out of the way. She turned off the furnace and opened the door showing Twitch nowhere inside, except a chunk of wall missing.)

Alvin: She got out on the other side. Go to the door on the left.

(As Elaina turned to reach the door, she felt a strong hand grabbed her ankle making her trip and fall. Elaina turned over and saw that Daniel was the one who grabbed her; he began to crawl on top of her.)

Daniel: You. You’re the one who gave birth to the royal blood. You’ll make a fine meal to eat!

(Daniel turned on his saw, ready to strike Elaina. Before he could, Elaina shot Daniel in the stomach twice which made him drop his saw. Elaina pushed him off and got up to go to the door. She opened the door, then barricaded it. She found Twitch on the floor still tied up; Elaina ran to Twitch to untie her bounds.)

Twitch: Elaina! Th-Thank goodness it’s you.

Elaina: Are you alright?

Twitch: I-I’ll live. I might have a limp.

(As Elaina untied Twitch’s bounds, she helped Twitch up and was limping. Twitch checked her shoulder and her leg realizing Daniel used her blade.)

Twitch: That fucker took my blade! He still alive?

(Before Elaina could answer, they heard banging on the other side of the door Elaina blocked. Not a moment too soon, Daniel bursts through the door bleeding from his wounds; Elaina aims her gun at him.)

Daniel: My food… I WILL NOT BE DENIED THIS PRIVILEGE!!

(Daniel ran towards them full sprint; Elaina shot him in the leg making him fall to the floor. Twitch limped past him to the other side to find her blade and her clothes. Daniel looked up at Elaina.)

Daniel: You both were supposed to be mine… Especially you. If not you, the royal blood you birthed. I would’ve gained control of that monster…

Elaina (angrily): This monster is something you can’t control. It’s made you worse than what you truly are and it’s something that can’t be stopped. Also, this is what you fucking get for trying to harm my daughter.

(Elaina lowered her gun when she saw Twitch in her clothes, blade in hand. The moment Twitch got close to Daniel, she impaled him in the back of Daniel’s head’ killing him instantly. She took the blade out and limped toward Elaina.)

Twitch: W-What happened to Tyler?

Elaina: He’s okay. He, Ali, Evee, and the baby are in the underground facility. I’ll take you back to the 8^th floor so you can be with them.

Twitch: Will you okay by yourself?

Elaina: Since I have Alvin on the brain and your “religious figure” guiding me, I’ll be fine. Now, let’s go.

(Elaina and Twitch walked out of the morgue to the hallway and reached the elevator so they can reach the 8^th floor.)
