Gael vigilantly kept the omega in his sight until he could no longer see him. He could feel his wolf whine inside, but ignored it.
Moxy smirked at Gael's reaction, "Come on, punk, I don’t have all day."
Gael's eyes landed on the old man, feeling vexed, before the man patted him harshly on the back, forcing him to walk a few steps. Moxy felt that the kid was quite different than what he had been expecting.
Flashback
Two people could be seen sitting at a dining room table. The air between the two was filled with familiarity and happiness. It had been a while since the room had been full of life. The faces of the people could be seen joyfully laughing at whatever the others had said.
An elderly woman passed by the table, placing some snacks between the two people sitting. She made him sit next to the elderly man before putting her hands on her lap.
"If you had mailed us beforehand about your arrival, I would have prepared some more snacks, your highness." Elenor said indignantly, before beaming out a smile, "However, I'll let this go for now, seeing as it's not often you come to visit."
The elderly man beside her picked up a cookie, and devoured it in one go.
"Delicious. I wish you made this more often, Elle." The old man said to Elenor, his expression serious.
"You know what the doctor said, Moxy, your diabetes may get the best of you. I'll only let you eat a couple before I have to take it away. " She said, worried.
Queen Esme looked at the two in mirth, "Why aren't you two married yet?"
The old man sputtered out his biscuit, "W-wha-?!"
Elenor's apple-red cheeks went even brighter red at the question.
Queen Esme lifted a hand, "Save it, Moxy. I've known you two since I was a child at the palace. You've always been together, and now you're even living with each other. What more proof do you need? " She turned to Elenor and asked, "Did he ever give you his love letter?"
Elenor looked at Moxy in confusion.
Cough
Moxy waved his hand, his ears a bright red. Trying to change the topic, he asked, "What's your purpose, Esme? Is it to make me die of a heart attack? " His eyes narrowed in wariness.
The Queen decided to keep her mouth shut about the sudden change in topic before stating her real intentions, her tone changing into something more serious.
"I wish to ask a favor from you two." The Queen said, her eyes shinning from the candlelight in the Wurston's dining room.
They were both startled by her change in attitude.
"Favor? Now what's this all about, Esme? " Moxy said.
"Is it something we can help out with?" Elenor expressed her concern.
They both stared at the grown woman before them. It felt like time had passed by in a flash, and the young girl they had originally watched over during their youth had grown overnight. Their hearts steeled for the terrible news they were expecting.
"Actually it's about my son Gael."
Gael? They both thought of the emotionless child they had met.
"Oh! How old is he now? " Elenor said, with happiness. She had a strong affinity with children, especially since she couldn't have her own.
Moxy glanced at the elderly woman, smiling at her reaction.
"He is nineteen as of now, Elenor. Actually, I was hoping you two could enroll him in your courses. Gael together with Noah, my future son-in-law." She looked up and saw their stupefied reaction.
"Gael has an omega already? Oh my goodness. " Elenor said, her hand poised in front of her mouth.
"A soul-mate, in fact. His name is Noah." The Queen smiled before getting off of the chair and bowing low in front of the two.
Moxy quickly stood up, "Get up, Esme, you're like a daughter to us. This sort of matter is trivial." He said, pulling at her arm.
Elenor also got up and grabbed both of Queen Esme's hands, giving her a gentle smile.
"I won't ask for any details, but your son and his mate will be in our care. However, although we began Etiquette school, we no longer teach there. I'm afraid that there are some events that may be against your majesty's wishes. Young people these days act out, and they suggested that this would be the only way to prevent that. We decided, why not let them do what they wanted for a week? " Elenor said sincerely, otherwise there would be fights every day between the alphas and omegas in built up tension or secret rendezvous.
Flashback End
In the meantime, Moxy had shown Gael to his room and told him the rules before leaving him to his own devices the day prior, so in the meantime, Gael had been wandering the halls in search of his classroom in preparation. Once he had located his classroom, Gael immediately headed back to his room to relax.
He was unaware of the small omegas that had been trailing far behind him in curiosity.
The next day, Gael entered his class. The teacher was nowhere to be found, allowing the class to act rambunctious and rowdy. His eyes furrowed, displeased by the environment. He cursed out his mother in his mind before he took one step in into the room. Only a few steps in and he accidentally caught eye with another alpha who had an omega on his lap. That same alpha looked at his friends before coming up to confront him, probably in an attempt to show off to the small female omega.
Gael's eyes narrowed. The room suddenly became quiet, seeing the scene in front of them. Bruce was an alpha who picked on everyone and anyone to show off to his girl, whether they were friends or new transferees. They tended to steer clear of him whenever they could, pretending he didn't exist so they wouldn't be the next target. They sighed when they saw the alpha starting things up again. Due to his horrendous grades and terrible attitude, he had been forced to retake courses for almost three years. This made him a senior compared to everyone in the room.
"Brat, what were you looking at?" The stout alpha said to Gael, clenching his hands to form fists. He didn't give Gael time to answer him before he started to swing.
Gael scoffed at the little cockroach's antics before grabbing the alpha's arm and flipping him easily onto his back. 'How annoying, the fact that I have to deal with these dim-wits.' He thought before punching the alpha in the face, knocking him out with a hard blow. Blood flew out of Bruce's nose from the hit. His face was stone-cold and his actions were vindictive. He had been annoyed ever since Freckles had been taken away from him.
At that moment, many of the alphas made a promise not to get onto Gael's bad side. They gulped when they saw him scan the room, eyes the color of rubies.
"Oh my goodness! Someone stop him! " A feminine voice screamed out. Gael winced at the ear piercing sound in displeasure, before noticing the omega standing outside of the classroom. He calmed himself down. Even if he was angry, he would never purposefully attack an omega.
He carefully dusted himself off, ignoring the blood on his hands, and sat in a random chair. He did not notice the scared yet worshipping eyes the young omega girls had towards him. They recognized him as the alpha they had followed yesterday, but were only able to see his broad back and long legs. As luck would have it, he was even more handsome than they had expected.
Atreus saw this scene and grinded his teeth. The new alpha had automatically caught the attention of their school's omega princess, Audrey. As well as the neighboring class beauty, Francine, who had originally come for Bruce. It seemed she would be moving on to a new target.
Although he was afraid of what occurred to Bruce just now, his annoyance was impeccable. He had managed to sneak out of the alpha floor while the teacher left to call for Audrey, but this guy ended up stealing her attention in the end. He bit his nail, looking on grievously as the omegas went to fawn over the new transferee.
Gael was unaware of this happening, and coldly told the omegas to leave unless they wanted to be reported to the teacher for leaving their floor.
The omegas smiled happily at the reprimand. Audrey immediately forgot about her promise with Atreus. She had to tell her friends about her new discovery and how he ranked A+ in looks. She glared at Francine in anger for being too up and personal with the new transfer student, and pulled her away and back to their floor, leaving as easily as they came.
The teacher walked in thirty minutes later in a strict manner. One look at the rowdy alphas made them stiffen up in silence. He was also someone they couldn't afford to mess with. This man was in contact with all their parents, and even held a powerful position in his rank. He was a middle-aged man, no less than forty years old. His aura was intimidating. Just as he entered, he had encountered Bruce's unconscious body in the entrance and just stepped on him towards the front.
He had no tolerance for students unwilling to change their ways. This particular student had been sent to him three times by the school. All the compassion and patience he had towards Bruce had been used up. Bruce, to him, was no more than a speck of dirt.
He glanced at the new student, before writing on the board.
"Can anyone tell me the answer to this?" He casually pushed the rim of his glasses up, and searched for victims. Everyone held their heads down, not willing to make eye contact with the teacher, and sighed in relief when Gael ended up being called.
"You, in the back." What's your name? "
The teen stood up confidently before simply stating, "Gael."
The other alphas looked on in admiration. He was so cool.
"Solve this."
They all looked at each other. This teacher was one of the strictest teachers they had, and he was relatively new as well. Of course, this was their first semester with him. Many of them were unable to keep up, and were thus failing his class miserably. When they looked at the board, it looked like a jumble of numbers and letters.
They sighed. This guy is about to be embarrassed in front of the whole class.
Atreus smirked. This question was quite simple. These morons wouldn't know a thing or two about physics. He yawned, feeling quite satisfied. Although the teen could rival him in looks, he wouldn't be able to rival him in intelligence, it seemed.
Gael looked at the problem before stating the answer. The teacher looked surprised. The answer was correct. His eyes curved in happiness; teaching this new kid wouldn't prove to be a problem after all.
"Good job, sit down." The teacher resumed class.
Gael sat down, and Atreus looked on hatefully, still in disbelief at what had just happened. The others were still wide-eyed. They had never heard their teacher praise a student before. Was the new alpha a genius?
Little did they know that Gael had already surpassed everything they were taught as he was provided with the best tutors the Kingdom had to offer. Even so, none of those tutors would work with anyone less than a genius, and Gael hit the mark for them; the old-coots were even willing to let him be their apprentice. They felt it was quite a waste when they were forcefully rejected by a young Gael, who had stated that he wanted to be a commander once he grew up.
The teacher looked at him with a pointed look before looking away. Atreus clenched his pencil hard enough that he snapped it in half. Did the teacher expect him to get along with this person? Did he not know how wronged Atreus felt at the moment? No matter, he will get back at him in their next class before any ideas can form in his head.
