The class went on to discuss the guideline for the project before splitting off into our groups again. After class I moved through the day. As normal I kept to myself and only bothered to talk when spoken directly to.
That is until lunch rolled around. I usually spent my lunch on the roof just daydreaming. As you could guess my parents could not care if I ate lunch or not. Over time I have come accustomed to this. During my walk to the stairs for the rooftop, Dustin approached me.
“Hey, wait up.” He called to me.
I stopped walking as he reached me. I glance over. Of course, there are people looking.
“what did you need?” I ask.
“Wondering if I could join you for lunch?”
I sat there for a second a little bewildered.
“Why don’t you join your friends, wont they feel left out.”
“Nah, they sit with different people at lunch. Don’t you go up on the roof let me join, I've never been up there.”
He waited patiently for my response.
“I guess so, but please don’t bother me.” I gave in.
We made our way up before I took my spot in the corner. He proceeded to sit done next to me. It was quiet for some time. Then he spoke up.
“What happened anyways.” He asked me.
“Hmm? What do you mean?”
“Why where you out so early and far from home.”
In this second, I could tell this would be a long lunch.
