Hey everyone! By day I'm a freelance digital artist and in my spare time I run a sparsely updated YouTube channel and this awesome comic! I love animation, comics, movies and all kinds of music!
Working on the next chapter but in the meantime, I thought I'd share some more of my process.
After I've cleaned up my line work, I add the flats. The colors in my comic are pretty simple. I literally only have a mid-tone, then scattered highlights and a core shadow. That's it. This is the flatted page!
I've already written the script for the first season, so I block out the scene for this episode/page. It's SUPER rough and only consists of general shapes. At this point I'm just trying to get my staging done.
Some of you may not know this, but Literally Speaking is actually an online comic I created about 16 years ago. I'll be posting some more pics of my process here in just a bit, but before I do, I wanted to give you a glimpse into the past. This is an actual page from the original comic. The story line is nearly the same. Be warned... this stuff is cringe worthy.
