Hi Everyone! I promise the comic is NOT dead, I have actually started work on episode 2, as well as learning a new drawing program. I apologize for the radio silence, but i'm trying to dedicate as much of my time as I can towards it. Also, I wanna share a sneak peek of the first panel before inking/coloring it. I can't wait to show you all the final product!
Hello again! I just started the thumbnail's for the layout of chapter 1 of Conjuring Chaos! :) I'm still scripting, but I wanted to take a short break and focus on laying out the panels for the opening episode. This is probably the second most time consuming part of the process, with scripting being the first haha. Let me know what you think so far in the comments below! ^^
Hey guys! Hope your all doing well! I first want to apologize for the radio silence. You probably want to know what's going on with Conjuring Chaos. Well, I gave the story a long hard look, and realized it had more holes in it than sliced cheese. I spent a couple months reworking the story, and came up with something I think you're all really gonna like. Currently I'm working on the new script, as well as sharpening my art skills. Now the next question is, what in the world is taking so long?? Sadly i'm just one person, a person who has a day time job and adult responsibilities that cut into my free time. I promise haven't given up on Conjuring Chaos yet, and don't plan on it! :)
While you wait though, I recently started a Ko-Fi account and plan on posting scrapped script snippets, artwork, and maybe some sketch comic shorts from the scrapped snippets. Come check it out, and if you like what you see please consider 'buying me a coffee' aka a tip. Thank you guys so much for the support. I can't wait to bring you Conjuring Chaos. :)
Hey everyone! It sure has been a long time huh? A lot of things have happened the past few months, which brings me to good and bad news, bad (though good) news is that I got a new job. Its much better than my previous job, but I do have to work a few extra hours than before, cutting down my comic making time. Good news is that I got a new tablet that has really made inking fly by compared to my old tablet, so now I can devote more time to adding some fun background elements and details! I can't promise a date for when I'll officially start posting the pages, but I am working as fast as I can. In the meantime here are a few doodles and inked elements from or inspired by the comic.
Thank you so much! I try to do a little bit everyday, but comic making sure is a big endeavor to take on. Also look forward to reading more of your comic too! :)
Hey everyone! There will be no update this month, I had some things come up that set me back quite a bit. I'm hoping to be caught up for next months though.
Conjuring Chaos, chapter 1, is still in the works and going strong. I did have to make a change in the script which added a few extra pages that better tell the story. The extra pages have actually become my favorite sequence in this chapter too.
The next Authors Note is about 70% done. This episode is a bit tricky and out of my drawing comfort zone. You can see the W.I.P. images and more on my Instagram: @pennyv_art
Yeah I love the clean lines of Illustrator and the gradient tool when I color but I never knew much about SAI. Also its really cool talking to you most of the artists on the comics I read on here never have time to talk. Its understandable but I love to know things about the comics and such. Like where did inspiration come for Life is Peachy?
I can tell you love what you do it shows in your work. Im an artist as well (well in college to be one ^^" ) and its really important to enjoy your art (in between all the frustrations that come with making art too hahaha :) )
Sorry for the late reply, had my hands full this week. orz Yeah I do try to at least reply for now but just so happens I started my apprenticeship and it's the middle of exam season for me, can't really blame others for not being able to find the time. :<
Uh well, I had a couple influences, if I'm to point to one though it's a game series known as Touhou Project because it got me interested in eastern folklore. Just mind if you do a google search, people do a lot of explicit fanart of it, the source material is nothing like that. >.<
The short of it is - I doodled the characters a couple years back, then started to build a world around them, then the comic happened because I was sick of not doing anything with them for so long. orz They're actually part of something bigger but I can't really talk about it because it's not fit for presentation just yet. I have some far reaching plans, let's just say. Other than that, I just wanted to tell stories since I was a kid. orz
Really appreciate you saying so, I'm well aware I'm not really amazing when it comes to my ability but I'm trying my best and I'm glad it's noticeable! orz Wish I could have gone to an art college too but I started too late and lack the necessary talent. Go you, though! I'm sure you're doing great! Thanks for the messages, awful nice talking to you!
its no problem I know exactly how you feel!! I have a job and i'm currently the only cashier and its driving me nuts that I have no time to draw ^^" and exam time is super rough too i'm sure you will ace them all! so I totally understand the delays and such.
Thanks for the heads up about that! I did look it up though and it sure sounds like a fun and interesting game. I don't have much time to play video games anymore sadly :(
and ohhh now i'm really interested about these plans haha I love a good story :) and that's usually how great stories start, someone doodles something in a notebook or on a napkin and it becomes something great.
I actually go to a regular college but we have amazing art teachers who really try and push us to do our best. Thank you for the encouragement too i'm always nervous I wont do good on a project and fail the class. I think you have great talent too. Your line work is very clean and the characters super cute. Your storytelling too adds to the cuteness. and thank you I have really been enjoying talking to you too. Its great to talk to a fellow artist! If you ever have any time my best friend and I post some of our artwork to a page on Facebook called Purple Cake Studio. Your welcome to come check it out, we don't post often because like you were super busy ^^" I hope we can still talk every now and then though. Good luck with the internship!!! you got this! :D
Sorry for the late reply again, busy weekend. Thank you for the encouragement, It's a bit much though, gosh. orz I'm just trying to do my best!
Unfortunately I really can't say much about what I'm going to do with it while it's still being planned out, hopefully it'll turn some heads tho! orz
I'm not really fond of facebook nor I use it for much nowdays but I'll check your page out when I can. Sorry to hear about your lack of time to draw, hope you'll be able to find some soon! Cheers, good luck with your stuff!
Your Welcome! and this is so cute! I love it! and I love your comic I cant wait for the next update, You have such a unique take on your characters too :)
