Hello! I love making comics and drawing. Malleus Maleficarum is sort of my first legit attempt at making a comic series. I would love for you to check it out :]
A random question for Malleus Maleficarum readers - would anyone be interested in buying printed copies of Malleus Maleficarum? I have always wanted to print a copy for close ones and myself, but I've never thought of selling copies online before. At the moment, only Volume 1 is ready to be printed. It will consist of all five chapters already uploaded here on Tapastic.
I'm just trying to gauge if there is any interest. Would love to hear your thoughts, or suggestion you all might have! :)
On a side note, below picture of Fenris was a little something I doodled a couple months ago to get back into painting!
I think that if you really want a copy for yourself (because who in the world doesn't want a physical printed version of their own hardwork?! ; U ;) then you could probably ALSO print a few extras for cons. That way if there happens to be peeps that want a copy or two at an event, they have access to it! Pertaining to online orders though, I would say you could probably do a pre-order of some sort so that if you need to print a few extra copies for online peeps then you can. That way you can save on shipping (if you're having them shipped to your home first) and bulk order (the more you print, the more you save on money usually) if you need to. That's just my two cents though. 8^D Either way, I'd like to give you my congrats on having made it this far with MM!!! I can't recall how many pages there are for each chapter (my own chapters on average 20-ish with it's own outliers of course), but a book with a good amount of thickness (especially for our novel-isk genre) has to be at least 65+ pages and that's a good collection of hard work and dedication for us artists for sure! ; A ; - YY
Hey there, thanks for the advice and your kind words :)
Pre-ordering was something I never thought about, but that sounds like a good idea. Definitely, something to think about!
Quantity is the main issue I struggle with. LIke you said, the more you print, the more value for money. So if I just printed a copy for myself, the cost would be through the roof. At the same time, I don't really think I'd really sell THAT much tbh ^^;
There's also the possibility of trying out a local printer near you as well (it'd still be expensive, but you wouldn't have to pay for shipping and you'd be able to make a small run for yourself), but of course that would just depend on your location. And some peeps sometimes don't have access to one. D^8 Or if you want to, you can also check out print on demand companies such as Amazon, Lulu, etc. I've never tried them out but I've heard that they have a lower minimum for the number of books you must print and that proof copies are usually affordable. OvO
No matter what you decide to do though, I highly encourage you to research and poke around different companies and print shops. 8^U And also, if you have any friends that have dipped their toes into printing territory-- they might be able to give you some feedback and reviews on different companies. I'm thinking about getting my own work printed at some point, so I'll be in the same boat you are in the future as well. ; U ;b
I wouldn't quite say professional, but glad you think so! Thank you very much :D
Like a lot of artists, I've been drawing for as long as I remember since I was young.
Hey all, just letting you all know I finally caved in and got myself an instagram -sigh- It is ashriott on Insta, alternatively here https://www.instagram.com/ashriott/
It's so empty at the moment, but I will attempt to keep it alive by posting sketches and some other random stuff :P
