After I finish writing Laoch the Gold, I think I'll revisit a fan story that I began writing, but never finished. I can use that as a way to learn how to draw. I figure a nice Pokémon style artwork should simple enough to use as practice. Which, yes, the fan story is a Pokémon story.
I may upload it, if I'm satisfied with the artwork, but absolutely no promises on this one lol. I'm hyper critical of my own work, and if I don't like it, I won't post it unless I get substantially better. Then I may post it just to show my growth as I learn how to draw.
Lol thanks. I've been hesitant to pay someone to do work for this fan story because the last thing I need to do is have to Pokémon company or Nintendo coming after me if it becomes somewhat popular. Not saying it will, but I'm never good at gambling lol.
Although, by the way the story is written, I can promise 100% that it would get shut down if it did get a little traction lmao. It's... definitely not for younger readers.
Gluttonous is still very much active on Globalcomix! While I can't upload it here due to how this site allows uploading, if you have a subscription on Globalcomix, you can read the whole story to its current point!
Also, Laoch the Gold will also change in it's release schedule. It will now consistently release twice a week, being Monday and Friday!
So, i acknowledge that I have very little romantic experience, which will show heavily in my stories. While it's very important to my stories to have love interests, it will be disgustingly obvious that I have no clue what I'm talking about lol.
I can make up depressing stories with the best of them, but romance is... difficult. Just to make any readers aware.
I mean, as far as Techromaster goes, both of your main characters are clearly portrayed to be totally messed up socially, so I expect it'll just make sense when they fumble it.
Lol their relationship will probably be the most accurately portrayed completely for that reason.
Genesis is still relatively new to existence, and Dante is a shut-in with no interest in people. They’re gonna be pretty goofy about how they interact romantically lol.
Someone that I follow on Twitter asked an interesting question that I ponder often.
If a main character kills, can they still be considered a hero?
Personally, I'd say yes, but it's a very difficult situation. If a man is killed by the hero, then the hero is just a murderer. However, if the man killed was found to be a secret murderer himself, then the hero is praised.
Superman not killing people is why people are at ease when he's around. However, even if he doesn't kill, there will always be those people who fear what might happen if he decides to change his methods. They've had several comic series following this concept.
It's definitely a hard standpoint, no matter which side you take. I factor all of this when writing my stories since each one of my characters has at least one body on their conscience.
Not sure why, but in the middle of my dream, a video played. A Batman comic in a video format while someone read over the dialogue.
It was about a villain that fought Batman on such equal terms, that it was like fighting a clone. Talking to Alfred about it, they come to the conclusion that it must be a copycat. However, it becomes clear that it's not when Batman realizes this person is legitimately reading his mind.
At the end, Batman loses. The identity of the person who he fought was none other than himself. An illusionary version of himself that he, himself had created. The only villain that he can never stop.
As a person who fights for the right reason, he's still done more damage, cost the people more money, and hurt more people than anyone else just by holding to his convictions to never kill. The ultimate killer.
What the hell kinda dream is that?! I mean, it sounds like it would make for a fantastic story, but even so!
Just needed to vent it out before I forgot it lol.
That’s actually crazy 😳 the last dream I remember having, I poured myself some orange juice (I didn’t even want any) and it evaporated. It was so short and random that I remembered it.
I have had some pretty crazy ones in the past that I still remember- Like when I was being chased by darth maul’s head in my backyard and I threw a box at it. Or when I was a tiny Luke Skywalker ziplining on piles of laundry… (I had both of those dreams before I ever watched any of the Star Wars movies???)
I have had no shortage of dreams that played out just like film or even utilized famous actors as characters. Sometimes I've even got ideas for my stories from them.
Ask me about my pitch for a movie with Kevin James and Adam Sandler.
Lol I usually have very vivid dreams. A lot of them I can remember like it was a memory.
This one just hit so well that I actually wanna write this as a side project. It was just such an insane psychological Batman story that I think it would be amazing to see.
Like, an early Batman who's still learning how to deal with the stress of pointlessly capturing bad guys that keep escaping and killing more people.
He ends up fighting an illusion of himself that he can't beat because, in the end, he knows that to hold his convictions about killing, he has to accept that people will die.
Ideas! Ideas are flowing as smoothly as a river right now!
While on the topic of RPG style fantasy, I do have to be careful not to utilize too many ideas since my main series will also have a character and story that works with that concept, as well.
However, the ideas are all coming together so nicely! How could I not utilize at least some of them?
I may have written the ending for Laoch the Gold in my head already! Don't worry, though. It still has plenty of story to be added between then and now. If anything, I may increase the release schedule if I pick my writing up even more!
The objective is to keep writing until my graphic novels catch up to where I've written them. That way, I can put a little pressure on myself to write more efficiently when I need to.
I'll explain the multipart chapters in Laoch the Gold.
I write separately from here, then copy it over. Therefore, I don’t adhere to the 15,000 character count, and some chapters drag a little longer than I realize until I try posting it.
I say this because I notice now that there may be quite a few multipart chapters as we lead into the midgame story. The number of active characters is expanding, the plot is getting deeper, and the details will get more vivid... hopefully lol.
Either way! We still have plenty to come! Stay tuned for any other updates!
Lol i figured there were others who also had to do that. 15,000 characters seems far too short for a standard book chapter. 15,000 words, maybe, but not individual characters.
Don't you just haaaaate when you forget if you've already explained something in your novels, but can't remember if you actually wrote it or just thought about it?
I just think up the plot point, then judge where it should be in accordance to the story as it is, where it's going, how difficult the task would be in contrast to how the characters are currently, then find a spot to put it in.
I'm not good at taking notes to get it out of my mind until the time i write it. It feels easier to carry the burden of holding it in my head like a memory until it's time to use it.
The hardest part is times like now lol. I view that idea as a memory, so it feels like I've already written it (which i didn't. I went back and checked lol.)
It's a personal flaw that I'll have to work out the solution to eventually.
I honestly don't often myself, TBH, but I figured, if you did, at least it would be a fast way to look back and be able to say: Ok I've definitely already been through that section."
How is Laoch the Golden so far? Anyone got any input to the story? Perhaps the pacing feels weird, or the story has too many slow spots? Maybe even too few slow spots? Too much detail? Not enough detail? Anyone got any criticism to give?
I'm trying to improve my writing and I can't do it if I dont know where my weak points are. I'm just tryina get better, ya know?
