I kind of want to write horror short stories, but I'm not sure of the demographic on that.
For the handful of readers that we have, would that be something of interest? It would range from short stories to three-sentence horror.
Hell, if it became popular enough, I'd even let people submit their own stuff, then I'd share it, giving them full credit, and getting their twisted mind and name out there a little more lol.
What about fake horror stories? Like it's a comic and the artwork screams dark and gritty horror movie, but the scenarios are all things like stepping on a Lego, or the water turning off in the shower when you've still got shampoo in your hair. *Cue Hitchcock Music*
I would love to do that, except I'm not great at art lol. I do written books because it's free.
Very excellent idea, though! I can already envision it perfectly!
Dreading the thought of entering your son's room. Hearing the crackling laughter from the other side. You take a deep breath, then open the creaking door. A landmine field of legos are spread across the floor. You dodge and maneuver while being over dramatic, trying to reach your son. Finally stepping on a lego, falling to the ground, and haphazardly rolling across the rest, screaming in pain and agony to the gentle, yet painful touch.
I have some horror stories that I want to write, but I know none of them are worth a full, dedicated story.
Tyler Dark is a young man from Oklahoma. He lives with his sister from his adoption, Hailey, who works as one of the paladins that defend the world from demons. Since that isn't very profitable, Tyler decides he wants to be a stage performer to take care of her instead of the other way around. Unfortunately, he's very bad at acting.
After being discovered as someone with a powerful spirit, a particular demon pays him a visit. Satan's middle child, Daemos, chooses Tyler as his possession host. However, something strange happens, and Daemos' power is merely taken by Tyler in a failed possession attempt.
After discussing the situation with Daemos and his sister, Tyler decides to take on Daemos' mission of slaying demons that escaped from Hell, taking his life a different direction than he had expected... or hoped...
There's still a few updates left between now an mid-April, but I'll be writing the last chapter to Laoch the Gold starting tomorrow! Also, I do have pictures being made for select scenes for a little visual effect. Perhaps they'll highten the experience and make it slightly more immersive.
I hope you all have had as much fun reading it as I have writing it! Thank you so much for the continued support!
Thanks! I'll try to sprinkle a few throughout the story, but the final chapter will release on April 14th, so we may hit the end before I finish uploading the pictures through it all.
We should have a new update to Techromaster thus week, but while we wait, allow me to showcase a future story!
Bountiful: Isle of Myths takes place after the events of Gluttonous and Techromaster. Magic is running wild and the universe is seemingly cracking at the seams.
Tim and Kevin Tanners are two cousins who choose that they want to be known worldwide. However, when they choose to be bounty hunters, they prove to be too good at their jobs. That leads them to be recruited as secret underground assassins, which is counterproductive to their goals to be known worldwide.
They get a job offer that leads them to hunt something strange in the Sahara Desert which, for some reason, has sprung a forest. This leads them onto a chain of events that forces them into a world that they, nor most of the world, knows exists. The world of myths and magic.
Inspiration can come from anywhere. Be that a good song, a comic or manga, or possibly a movie or show. Two of my biggest inspirations are from shows/manga. The one is pretty standard and most who know of it would probably understand. The other... well, I'm sure I'd get called a liar lmao.
I'm thinking of doing small fuller drawings for Laoch the Gold to depict small scenes like Laoch in the beginning, sitting against the wall, or perhaps the scene of him laying on the bottom of the lake. Small visuals to leave less to the imagination, and just make some things easier to envision.
Does that sound like something rhat will improve the story, or would it hinder it?
lol I felt like it would be better if it was like an old fantasy story with rough sketches throughout it. It would definitely add to the medieval feel, if anything.
In a future story, as part of our main graphic novel universe, we have a series that I wasn't entirely sure what direction to go. However, I've finally figured it out!
Without giving too much detail, I'll explain the main point of the story. Andre Maxim is born with a curse. His curse makes everything equal to his current strength, capability, and health.
If someone holds a gun to him while he's empty handed, the gun won't fire. If someone uses magic while he doesn't have any, it won't activate. If someone has a contagious disease while he's healthy, it vanishes.
Unfortunately, it works the opposite way. If Andre is sick, it infects everyone around him. If Andre is weak, everyone around him is also weak. Nothing can have an advantage over Andre due to his curse.
Thank you! I have several stories planned for the future, but none of them can start until Techromaster and Gluttonous end. Those two stories set the stage for the future, so it's important that those are completed first.
I think im overthinking about how i want the ending of Laoch the Gold to be. I have plenty of time to debate it since I still have several updates before we're caught up, but I feel like I want one more twist before we put the bow on top, ya know?
Easy. Just keep on telling everyone that there's going to be a major twist at the end, and get them excited for it, and then have absolutely no twist, and THAT'S the twist.
I just came up with a manga idea that follows the current popular theme of "overpowered people trying to live normal lives" that everyone seems to be enjoying lately. However, I have no means to do anything with it.
"The Hero is a Gamer" would be the title for it. In the time of peace, the hero makes his rounds to visit the people, and make sure everything is still peaceful. Amongst those that the hero visits, one of his old friends has a child that introduces him to video games. He, then, spirals into addiction, becoming a stay-at-home nerd that just plays video games all day, every day.
With his absence, villains begin moving again, and the people feel the peace slipping away. A girl visits the hero, and through some hard convincing, reminds the hero that if there's no peace, there's no video games, making him have to split his time maintaining the peace while still enjoying his gaming time.
If anyone wants to steal this idea, feel free! I'd be interested to see what people could do with it!
If this takes place in modern day, I could see him desperately trying to get extra game time in, on mobile games, or the Switch, in between moments of combat.
PUNCH! *Villain goes flying* "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! I've almost got the high score!"
*Energy blast sends phone flying* "NOOOO! My high score!"
The hero is told of a robbery while he's playing a phone game. Walks in as the thieves point guns at him. "Listen, guys. Just leave and let me finish my game, and we can both carry on today, okay?" They open fire as he dances around, dodging bullets without looking away from his phone. Taking out each thief without using anything other than his legs. The last thief makes him glance away for a split second as he quickly headbutts them. When he looks back, he realizes he lost his game. "You bastards! You're definitely going to prison for this injustice!"
