It's been a while.
And I think you should know what I've been up to.
Basically, I don't think I can do Ry Zeng anymore. The comic was entirely planned out, I was full of motivation, and then college came. Then the lockdowns. And I just couldn't do it anymore. Any passion I had for the comic was completely drained.
But hey, 30 pages! I didn't think I'd make it that far to be honest. I'm very proud of that goal, and at least I tried to keep things going even in the darkest of hours.
Moving forward, I want to do more smaller-scale, self-contained comics. I feel I work better in an episodic vein with no overarching plots or drama or stuff like that. This came from manga like Nichijou and Azumanga Daioh: really weird and strange yet brief. That's the kind of comic I want to make. I hope that with a shorter format I can get my point across and get a good laugh.
Here's to a better, creative and productive new year.
hello everyone.
i don't know what to say. the past few days have been horrible and have sapped my motivation to do ry zeng once again. i don't know when i can start chapter 2. i really don't. please give me some time to think this over.
hello everyone, i hope you're all doing well.
i just returned to my job which has raised my spirits a bit, and given me more motivation to work on the comic. i'm did sketches for the first few pages of chapter 2 and i'm ready to go back to the drawing board and finish em off so i can post them here.
chapter 2 is called "arena" and will be out later this week, hopefully.
