Hey all! I come bearing an unfortunate announcement today, which is that following the July episode, 'Dungeons & Dinosaurs: Royal Road Trip' will be going on an indefinite hiatus.
Although the series as-posted is still relatively new (having launched in March), the end of this month actually marks the 1 year anniversary of starting the comic. What I've found as time has gone on is that my excitement and motivation to continue the series has been on the decline, and in recent months it's been at an all time low.
As it stands, when the comic launched I had finished 7 episodes in the span of 8 months. I had hoped to maintain or even increase my pace of work, but instead 3 months have passed and I'm juuuust about halfway through working on episode 8. My options at this point were either to go on a temporary hiatus after the 8th episode went up in August to attempt to rebuild buffer (at a current pace of 3 months per episode lol) or put the project aside now and attempt to find something that I'm more excited about... so I'm choosing the latter!
I think my main takeaway here is that it was inherently risky to commit both to drawing a story that I had little control over (as I was one of the players in the campaign, not the DM) *&* committing to drawing the story early on rather than waiting to see how it would unfold first. The campaign ended in December so I now know that the ending is a little... strange and anti-climactic, so it feels unappealing to think about spending years more on this comic only for the ending to be underwhelming.
I'll take this as a lesson learned and return to working on either, A.) my own stories, or B.) at least stories of others that are intended for a comic format, whose authors I can collaborate with more directly. :) Regardless, thank you all for your continued support and I hope you enjoy the final episode next month, as well as whatever comes next! <3
Thank you for the kind words \o/. Yeahh, it feels really bad to drop a project, but I finally came to the conclusion that I'm doing more harm than good by limping it along rather than trying something else ^^;; Going to try and recover a little with another one-shot or two before I attempt something long again :)
Hey all! I wanted to make a quick announcement about a new comic-oriented Youtube series that I'm starting, unofficially dubbed "Comic Chat With Rhonder"!
I'm going to be starting with a variety of discussion and "tips & tricks" style content, but may branch out into other things like reviews or similar later~
The first video is linked here for anyone that wants to give it a look:
https://youtu.be/9FE0cMD-Ru8
I'm also open for suggestions for video topics ^^;; I have a list prepared but it's not super long, so if there's anything specific you would like to see me talk about let me know and I'll definitely consider it :)
Haven't spammed about it here in a while, so now is the time to do so! Just a reminder that I stream comics every Wednesday night and Saturday day (PST)! Tonight's stream is starting in about 3 and a half hours if anyone is interested in swinging by! (Saturdays start at 1pm PST)
Thank you so so much to everyone that supported me for Inksgiving this year!
I honestly kept a low profile and didn't expect to see much-if any- support this year since I knew my upcoming series wouldn't be ready to launch in time and my most recent new TreasureHUNT!! content was in April ^^;; But you all are too kind and splashed some ink my way anyways! <3
As such, I would like to offer a retroactive donation reward to those who gave me Ink during Inksgiving! The reward I've decided on is a sneak peak of my upcoming comic series, "Dungeons & Dinosaurs: Royal Road Trip" via a private gallery which would include the cover and first 5 episodes ;) If any of the eligible donors are interested in this, please let me know in a comment to this post~

As a general update for everyone, the project is coming along swimmingly! I'm coming up on the end of Episode 6 currently, and am aiming to get through either Episode 7 or 8 prior to launch. My goal is to premiere somewhere between mid-December and Early January!
I'm planning to start upping the frequency of WIPs and panels posted to my social media accounts (linked to the left) for the project soon, and if anyone wants to watch me work on the series live, I stream comic art on Twitch every Wednesday (8:30pm PST) & Saturday (1:00pm PST). Do feel free to swing by and say hi sometime if you want to :D
Managed to finish this drawing of Jaegen from Dungeons & Dinosaurs on stream tonight! I have a few more of these to do for the introductory episode before I can start posting to Tapas and Webtoons @u@
Heyo~ Now that my initial week of testing is complete, I kinda-sorta have a plan for my streaming (or at least what I'm gonna try out- we'll see if it works out lol).
There might be other random days/times outside of these but I've been told that making a schedule is good so I'mma try it out~
That said, today is Wednesday so I'll be on later tonight at the time listed above :D I've plopped a link to my channel over to the left under my other social media links so feel free to swing by around then if you want! Tonight I'll either be thumbnailing Dungeons & Dinosaurs (same ep I was working on Sunday) or working on character illustrations for D&D "Episode 0" I need to finish before I can launch the comic on Tapas. Haven't decided yet.
