My brand new comic series THE WYRM TURNS is now officially being released onto the world!
Pem is about to fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a knight! She just has to kill a dragon. Unfortunately he isn't the fire-breathing monster she was expecting...
It's a fantasy/comedy comic. Unlike my previous comics which have been fairly short one-shots, this one is designed as a six issue series, with episodic stories which build up to a 'season finale'.
There's a week left on my kickstarter campagin for THE DODO KNOWS, a short story collection which includes some of my comics from Tapas!
We've crossed the £2000 mark which was a stretch goal to get the whole thing printed using recycled papers.

Hello all! A quick update on THE DODO KNOWS, my anthology of short comics which is currently crowdfunding!
The campaign is about half way through, and I'm pleased to say that we've reached the first stretch goal - a cute baby dodo sticker for all physical tier backers. Awww!
It's been waaaaay too long, I hope you're all doing ok in this difficult time <3
I’m now kickstarting THE DODO KNOWS- a slipstreamy short story comics anthology of things lost and feelings found!
It collects together eight of some of my favourite short comics that I’ve created over the years - you might recognise some of them from my Tapas series 'Marginalia'.
You can back it here:

Hi lovely readers - big apologies needed, I know it's incredibly frustrating when comics mysteriously stop updating and I've always tried to avoid doing that. I'm a bit upset because I thought I'd set Earth in a Pocket auto-update in my absence so I could take that cognitive load off my mind but I guess I didn't, so I've just posted up two months worth of updates at once for you! Hope you enjoy them, even if they're belated!
So what happened? Where'd I go?
In short, 2019 has been a really exciting year for me, but I'm frazzled: I've had an artist residency at a museum, I got the funding to create an educational science comic which launched at an event in London this week, I've had my work published in a few different places, not to mention I've been doing some really exciting projects in my day job, AND I'm studying for a postgraduate teaching qualification. It's all great stuff, but my beloved passion project Earth in a Pocket had to wriggle down my list of priorities a bit, for a little while.
But I come bearing gifts!
To atone for my screw up, I can finally share same things with you
Firstly there's Athena and the Tortoise, a research grant funded project. If you like knowledgeable tough women explaining things to cute creatures, and hopefully you do, then this comic is for you. A shiny well designed online version will be coming later next year, but here's a prototype. Comments and feedback greatly appreciated!

Then there's the similarly-tortoisey TORTOISEHOARD, a short comic that I completed for the Observer/Cape/Comica graphic short story prize

I hope you enjoy them! My plan is to try to get back into a Tuesdays update schedule on Earth in a Pocket from here on out, and to keep everyone better informed about what's going on. Thanks so much for your patience and support <3
Dont worry about it too much
you`re not the first artist that had trouble with the auto-update function,... and i doubt you`ll be the last.
It sounds you had a wonderfull year, keep up the great work
I have some really exciting news! I'm going to be working as a writer in residence at Wirksworth Heritage Centre, with the aim of creating a comic/graphic novel exploring the town of Wirksworth's literary connections to 19th century novelist George Eliot. It's a really exciting project that I hope you'll all follow along with, and you can read more about it at my website - https://www.helengreetham.com/blog/writer-in-residence-at-wirksworth-heritage-centre
And on twitter - https://twitter.com/jabbageart
For readers of my ongoing comic Earth in a Pocket, never fear! I'm definitely going to be able to keep up weekly updates throughout May and into early June. After that I might have to switch to fortnightly updates or take a little break, but either way the comic isn't going anywhere. I'm hoping I might finish it before the end of the year, but we'll see!
1) The SCIENCE! anthology which I have a short story in has funded on Kickstarter, but there's still some time left to grab a copy! https://littleheroescomics.co.uk/anthology-3-science/
It's a great gift for any young comics fans in your life. Or not so young comics fans. Either way the money is going to bring a bit of brightness into the lives of kids in hospital, which is great.
2) You can now buy a couple of my comics in dead tree format in my shop, and your own little squishy badge*
https://www.helengreetham.com/etsy-shop
*badge depicts a cute alien from my comic Earth in a Pocket, which have become known as squishies. Badge is not actually squishy. It is iridescent though, which is cool.
3) Eh, I updated my website and it looks prettier now.

Thanks for your support as always, guys <3
There are nearly 900 of you now which blows my mind.
