If I'm being totally honest, I didn't even know that there was a novel contest until the 31st of July, the literal day before it started. I debated on joining in, as you can probably guess, it isn't my usual genre. (Looks at all the romance stories I've written and plan to write, squints at the word action, asks why it's there.)
On a whim, I looked through each and every last story idea I had written down, from just concepts to partially written scenes or a few pages of random content and found GHOSTS among them.
Of course, I had to narrow it down from like fifteen to three, but when I looked at the remaining ones, I felt almost compelled to do GHOSTS.
I really wasn't planning on writing this story yet, and originally, it might've had scenes written in first person POV, which is not what it is now. And it may have only had about 6 pages written in a word doc, which I scrapped about half of because they wouldn't work with a new spin I came up with while rereading what I had.
I'm pretty much just rolling with this one, since I didn't have an inkling of an outline a few days ago, and now only have like maybe twelve chapters worth figured out. (And I just planned out uploading chapters on my other story - In the Bed of a Villain - which is super helpful to this process. *sarcasm*)
I do think I have an end in mind for GHOSTS, but we'll see how it evolves and if that will change at some point.
I will continue all of my stories until they reach their written conclusions - no matter how long it takes, even GHOSTS - whether it wins anything or not in this contest.
(If I don't finish it, I will lose sleep scolding myself. I like sleep too much to force that scenario, even if sleep doesn't always like me.)
I hope you enjoy my total step back from romance with this new story, (I won't stop you from shipping some of the characters if that's your thing~) and I'll see if I'm able to give this idea of mine some justice.
