In the beginning, long after the world was created and wondrous humans were created, they had advanced into technology so greatly. They could do anything they ever wanted with machines, wires, motherboards, and a seamless click of a single button.
They soared through space, uncovering secrets of all kinds and delved within the Earth itself, surfacing ancient secrets unknown to the human eye. Buildings pierced past the ozone layer and into the blackness, and mines so deep the were unaffected by the earth's scorching core. Humankind became the top of the food chain, and every other organism beneath bowed to their unstoppable masters and mistresses.
Chemistry was all anyone ever saw day after day, whether it be shimmering holograms of colossal skyscrapers. Humans have cheated their way through the struggles of life, and became the gods among all. They proved the impossible wrong, smiting it in their filthy face. They have applied the ultimate ineffability to the world, not seen as a curse or a gift, but a revolution. They were unpredictable, but can predict everything. Life became predictable so nothing would go out of order. That was until a disaster fell among them.
The power supply suddenly came to an end, and no one could figure out why, but without their predicting material, they could not gather the answers they needed to soothe the public. The world was powerless, because until they initiated a back up supply, they had realized a comet was hurling right into their orbit. Trying to warn everyone as quickly as they could, the humans tried to escape through their rocket ships, but it was too late. The earth was impacted by the space rock, and everything was scorched.
Oceans dried up. Plants shriveled and fell into ashes. Metals were melted from the extreme heat. Continents were split into several broken pieces and went adrift. Humans perished all over the globe. Everything died in a glittering burst of light across the galaxy. The only thing that held together was the planet, now a smoldering sphere of grey matter. All life was vanquished, until three hundred thousand years later, water began to refill the cracked trenches, and oceans were restored. Plants started to flourish. Bacteria evolved into animals, followed by a miraculous act.
Humans started to rise up from the ashes of the grey landscape. One hundred thousand had been resurrected from death, confused as to what happened to their beloved empire. The air smelled new; the universe had given humans a second chance... with a twist.
It had not taken long for the world to repopulate slowly into gradual millions upon the cracked isles that used to be continents, but the humans began to notice something rather unlikely about their nature. Somehow, the humans were gifted were supernatural abilities of all kinds, and with these powers they could rebuild what had been destroyed. People wrote philosophies on these powers, taking note on everything magical they saw and applied it to a massive book, and naming this era "The Falling Star Revolution."
Years upon years, the humans built on top of what was left of the fractured continents, naming them the Four Chains; The Northern, The Eastern, The Southern, and The Western. They rebuilt their future the best they could, but this time could not recreate the ultimate cheat code of life. They could build anything accept for that.
Humans have flourished yet again successfully, continuing to advance through life the best they could manage, maintaining life and everything held within its hands.
