Coming from the same world Twilight is from.
Chapter 1: Holes in My Neck
I felt amazing at that moment, and in the moments that followed, I continued to feel as such.
Well telling you how I was going to feel in the future shouldn’t be trusted, sure my physical condition felt utterly perfect, indescribably suspended in life.
Though much of my mental state in the future couldn’t be as perfect.
———
All the pains in my body left and the world felt as though it was at my fingertips.
As if a single flick or wave of my hand could break or restore balance throughout reality.
I opened my eyes to an old ceiling.
It was silence all around me as if I was in space where sound could not travel.
My sight reached far beyond where I was starring, I could see every chip in the paint on that old ceiling, the dust frozen in midair.
The smell of the room was utterly delectable, my mouth opened and I took a breath, my lips moistening in anticipation.
Though such feelings of goodness changed quite dramatically as I looked more of my own whim.
My eyes moved quickly to the man above me, his mouth covered in blood, so much so that it was about to drop on me.
Though much like him they didn’t move any further.
I instinctually backed up, making distance.
I hit my head on the wall, the speed my body took was quite alarming and new.
The man I saw above me was now at least twenty feet away.
Though he wasn’t what I could focus on sitting there alone.
I looked around and all I could see was a massacre.
Blood was all over the marble floors, footsteps and bodies littered all about the hall.
My hand edged its way to my mouth in shock, in fear.
My eyes zoomed in without my own wanting and I could see the pain and anguish of my friend's faces, one even had a still man biting his neck.
I reached my hand to my neck and blood was there, my entire shirt was soaked in it.
As my sense of touch further examined my neck, the feeling of multiple holes started becoming more relevant.
Though such relevance quickly disappeared as they started closing up, I could feel with my hands and with my nerves the skin close.
I could smell the blood, it was a horrid feeling how delectable it was when reaching my nose.
I looked again at the man who was above me just a moment ago.
I spoke in an angry horror filled tone.
“No, no, what did you do?”
Though just as I said that, an intense pain fell upon my head.
A headache, a concussion?
Whatever it was caused my vision to fuzz out for a moment and a deep weird sound shimmered around in waves.
I pushed my hand to my head, and that frozen world I just looked at a moment ago went back to normal.
———-
Screams could be heard, the sound of tearing and swallowing, even laughter was heard.
My ears could hear everything around me.
I could even hear people outside of this place.
I couldn’t believe people were having a good time out there, the bliss of cluelessness to the horrid things that take place just inside this hall.
The man who was above me just before noticed my disappearance then quickly spotted me.
“Huh, how’d you get away.?”
I just sat there in fear, my body couldn’t move.
He tried coming after me and he could have reached me in a mere second.
Though as his mouth opened to show off his bloody fangs, and his hands tried reaching for me, the intense pains and weird noises came again.
My hand went to my head like before and everything around me, including that man, was frozen once more.
After the fuzziness faded I could see his hand a couple of inches from my neck.
I shifted, shuffling my body over away from him, until it turned to a crawl, till I got on my feet.
As I got to the other wall across the room, I fell to my knees at the immense pains that fell on me again.
‘What.. is this?..”
