I was raised in a cult, well, really I was born there. It was the Tribe of Beginnings, where they thought that I was their Goddess of Life. I could have anything I wanted, except for freedom; the adults scared me, but the kids were always kind to me at least. People would come & meet me, but all I wanted to do was leave. We would get so close... until Father would find us, congratulating me for 'weeding out falsehoods' & take the person somewhere. Father led the cult & was trying to get his son to take over. His son, Charlie was the only kid who treated me normally. One woman was also kind to me, I called her Mommy. Years & years passed, until I was 7 when everything came crashing down. I was sitting on a throne, in a white dress with white wings on, eyes glazed over along with a thing veil over my face. My hair had been so curly as men & women were on their knees bowing to me; I was crying. They were all scarily still, I wasn't sure if they were even breathing. White makeup was on my tan face & my throat burned. I heard doors being broken down as the adults remained with their heads on the ground. The kids were all freaking out, crying & screaming. "No! Don't take her!" someone in black armor rushed in, demanding hands on their heads; one figure walked up to me, removing the helmet. She's pale with short brown hair. "Hey sweetie... you alright?" I nodded. "Get me out of here... please..." she scoops me up, pressing my body to hers as children grab random items, hitting several officers with them; I see Charlie leading them, throwing toys & random other objects, following them to a large black truck. White & red trucks are everywhere, lights flashing; guess it scares the others, because they back up towards the building, still looking right at me. "Ambulance... fire truck..." I mutter. The lady gives me a glance. "That's right. What's your name?" she sets me down in a chair. "They called me A-Alpha... c-can I stop being a Goddess now?" the others look at me. A man comes in, whispering to another man. "What'd he say?" the woman shrugs. "I don't know... b-but, is there a name you like?" I nodded. "Yeah... Luna... I like Luna a lot." she smiles, petting my head. "My name is Demitree. Ok... ok, let's go see someone ok?" she holds my hand, taking me to see someone. He's tan, like me with very short, curly black hair. His eyes are dark brown as he raises a eyebrow at me. "Why, hello." he says, coming over to me; his face has hair on it. I can't help but touch it; he laughs a little. "Here..." he reaches for my ear, & pulls a card from behind it. Its has a drawing of a sunset, with a flying heart on it. I was amazed. "Are you a God too?" he gives me a odd look, glancing behind me. "N-No... I'm not. She the only one left?" Demitree nods. "Sargent Mitchel.. it's complicated. You saw those kids; they're pissed we have her. The adults...?" he shakes his head. "What?" I asked; what about the adults? Where's Mommy? "I-It's nothing... really Sw-" "Tell me." I say. "Adults are dead... one is missing." I began to cry as Demitree looked at me. "How did you...? Wait, who's missing?" the man's eyes glassed over. "There's a woman somewhere, but no one knows where." I got excited; Mommy could be safe. "MITCHEL!" the man snapped out of it. "W-What just...? Those other kids... what's happening with them?" Another man ran in. "We've got a problem. These kids... I think they're drugged up or something. They won't leave the outskirts of the property." I hear chanting from outside, my friends calling for me. "They want me." I say, walking to leave the truck I was in; I looked at Demitree. "Let me see them."
"Sarge, should we take them down? We have air soft guns, or flash grenades." The man, Mitchel shook his head. "No. They're just kids... damn, we have to calm them down." The female officer, Demitree, was holding me tightly on her hip. The children saw me & started letting out a harmonized sound. "I can help." I jumped down, as officers try to stop me, grabbing my arms. "Let me go!" they did what I asked; my head hurt really bad now. I'm standing outside, bare feet on the grass & dress blowing in the wind along with feathers from the wings ruffling in the breeze; I walk closer to them, knowing what I had to do. This place wasn't a good one... it was full of mostly bad memories & unease & now, death. I wanted to be free. Charlie meets me, crying & hugging me tight. The others start to cry too, none of them wanting to touch me; that used to be a punishment for them to touch me without permission, except for Charlie. I extend my arms & children from 3 to 14 run to hug me. Charlie speaks up for the group. "Don't go! Please! Dad won't wake up & we're gonna miss you!" I give a small smile & hug him tight. "Children... sleep & forget." kids suddenly fell in the grass, all sleeping peacefully; Charlie was the last one to sleep, touching my face as people wearing armor checked on each child. "I will always love you... Charlotte." he said, speaking the name that he gave me, before falling unconscious. That was the last time I saw him, or anyone from Tribe of Beginnings again.
