Kris sat down staring lifelessly into her phone, and browsed the internet. The door opened slightly. Kris got scared and jumped back.
"Hey, no mean to scare ya'." The tall shadow joked...

Los Angeles, California.
Kris sat down into the driver's seat of her car, he had been nowhere in sight, she knew he was ready for the long trip to Washington but she also knew that he didn't want to go. "Where the heck is he?" she asked under her breath, suddenly a sleek shadow figure appeared in front of the car door. 'Finally, I've been waiting for an hour.' she thought. "Where have you been!?" she shouted as the figure opened the door and sat down. "No where." it replied, "Well you should have been here an hour ago? Jacob, please tell me." Jacob looked at her and then spoke "I'll tell you while were driving there."
"—nd so it turns out my white flannel shirt got messy from that last party we went to... Remember? The one with your old friends Bethany and Saman-" Kris cut him off "Yes, I remember 'that' party, I never want to talk about it again-Continue."
Jacob glanced at her and then back to the road "Turns out it had a ketchup stain all over it, if you think about it I can be Dracula for Halloween with that shirt." Jacob smiled, but Kris still had a serious look on her face. "Hey what happened? Cat got your tongue?" Kris looked at him "No. I-I'm just concentrating." she looked back onto the road and let him continue his story "So I ended up wearing this shirt that I never knew I had." "I got that shirt for you on our anniversary." she stated. "Oh." Jacob looked down at his feet, "I'm sorry, I never noticed. But I DO like it." Kris smiled, she then glanced at her GPS "Ok, so there is a gas station around ten miles away from here." "Mhm."
The gas station was almost empty, though it was not hollow. The two separated and went into the bathrooms. But then reunited when they came back out. Kris pulled our her phone and noticed at least ten notifications from Pinterest. "Dang it, Pinterest." she cursed underneath her breath. Jacob overheard "What happened?" He looked at his girlfriend's face. "Nothing.-Lets go to that taco place over there." she pointed in the direction of the restaurant. "Ok."
When they sat down at their table the place had more people than before and Kris grabbed herself an iced coffee while Jacob ordered the tacos. "Dude, this place is way more spacious than I thought it was." Kris glanced at him. "Pretty bold statement, 'Mr.IFORGOTIHADTHISSHIRT'." they both laughed. "Heck, Aunt Stacy is going to be so mad at us if we don't arrive in Seattle by tomorrow." Jacob took a bite of his taco and looked at her "Your problem that you have a crazy aunt. I can't wait to see what hair color she has now." Aunt Stacy has been dying her hair different colors for every year, depending on what her favorite color was at the time. Sometimes she regretted the colors but most of the time she loved it. "I won't disagree with that fact." Kris smiled. At the same moment she saw an employee of the taco place get taken out of the gas station by a figure dressed in black. Kris quickly turned around to face Jacob "Holy Crap, Jacob. DID YOU SEE THAT?!?" she almost yelled "YEAH!" Jacob agreed. They got up from their seats and ran out the back of the gas station. They saw the figure get into the car with its victim already inside. Kris pulled out her phone as quickly as she could and took a picture of the license plate before the car took off. The two started yelling for help but no-one came, they gave up. They went back into the diner and grabbed their stuff and got into their car Jacob now in the driver's seat. "We should go, before we get kidnapped." Jacob joked but Kris ignored him. She kept looking at her phone. The picture of the license plate.
By the time they got to Centralia it had been dark. Kris fell asleep, but Jacob still was awake. He nudged Kris with his elbow, "Hey. Hey, Kris." he whispered. "Y-Yeah?" she replied sleepily. "There's a police station nearby." As soon as she heard that she immediately woke up. "Drive. There. Now."
When they got to the Police Station they both ran out of the car. As soon as they saw someone at the desk the came to them. They turned around to look at the two. A middle aged woman, dark brown hair and blue eyes. "I'm Cassandra, what is your emergency?" She said almost seriously. 'She thinks we are going to prank her.' "Well..." Jacob started "When we were around 40 miles away from here, we saw a kidnapping." Kris almost interrupted him "I got a picture of the license plate."
Cassandra typed in the letters of the license plate thoroughly, "There... Oh, Billy Monroe? He's the sweetest guy in town, He'd never kidnapp anyone." 'Well it looks like he did.' Kris muttered in her thoughts. "Now Kids, I'll have to get security. Or you'll have to leave by yourself. This is by far the worst prank I could have received." Jacob put his hand on Kris' shoulder. "Excuse me, this is a real case. And your an officer so you should solve cases." Cassandra glared at him. "I'll give you one last chance." she calmly stated, "What did the victim look like?"
Kris tried to remember what they looked like then she remembered a small bit of information that could be used. "Female, Black hair with red tips, white, a worker at the taco restaurant at the station."
Cassandra found four-teen people that looked like her, "What age did she look like?", "Early twenties." The teenage girl replied. "M'kay." Cassandra eliminated the woman that were older than 29. The boy broke the sudden silence that Cassandra didn't know was there. "European. The woman looked European, German or Polish." She eliminated the rest of the woman that didn't look European or weren't listed in the European category. "Nope, theres no one." Cassandra knew she was lying. There was one person on the list now, her sister. Cristina Lin. "I-I'm sorry but you have to leave."
"No, but wait!" Kris almost yelled. "NOW." Cassandra replied briefly and put her finger over the security-call button threatening them. Jacob looked at her, and Kris did the same thing at the same time. Their gazes met. "We should really get out of here." Jacob mouthed. Kris nodded and left shortly after Cassandra pressed the call button.
"Damn teenagers." Cassandra cursed. Then looked back at the photo of her sister. Something seemed to look off in the background of the photo.
Kris started to tear up, annoyed by the lady at the front desk. Jacob put his arms out to let her hug him. Kris leaned toward Jacob and put her head down as he hugged her tightly. Kris sobbed. "W-why. W-we could have saved a life." she stuttered. Jacob shook his head at the words "No, we will find that 'Billy Monroe' to whatever his name is and put him in jail."
Around an hour later they went back onto the road and finally got to Seattle. Aunt Stacy has been waiting for them on her porch, "Where the hell have you two been?!" She shouted to the two teenagers. "We'll tell you inside!" Jacob yelled back to her. They took out their bags and closed the back of the car. Aunt Stacy's hair had been dyed red, "Nice hair-do, Stace." Jacob laughed. But Aunt Stacy shoowed them inside. She smiled and took their bags then pointed to the couch were the teens sat down. "So?" Stacy smirked. Jacob and Kris looked at each other awkwardly. "Did Jacob propose?" She laughed. "N-N-N-NO!" Kris shouted, suddenly a sleek cat with a gray pelt came down the stairs and hopped onto Stacy's lap. "Hello Mr. Cat." Jacob smiled and Kris got serious. "We were late because we witnessed a kidnapping..."
