This story Under Broken Stars covers a ton of graphic violence and sex with questionable choices and morally gray characters. All (of the ‘main’-ish and including the main) characters are 18+ and there is always consent in this story, even though it doesn't feel like it (you will see as you read this story). This isn't a non-con (non-consensual). No one is forced into sexual acts (at least, not necessarily, but more on this later. Specifically, however, there is no non-con when it focuses on the main character and the male lead). There are hints of dub-con (dubious consent), but it isn't (necessarily) forced. If I am missing a tag for any of the mature scenes, let me know. Side note: I am not trying to romanticize anything, just to be clear. I know the trauma behind a lot of these things so I don’t want to downplay on them nor do I want to make them be seen as something “romantic” or “good” or whatnot.
This story is also a dark romance and dark fantasy because Under Broken Stars will cover explicit and graphic content. The main character and male lead are both really unhinged characters (like super unhinged to the point that some morals are thrown out the window), and Under Broken Stars will cover tons of morally gray issues. Again, even though there are dub-con scenarios, there are no non-cons (if there is, it’s for a brief moment, as I do not want to romanticize this issue [as I keep on iterating, despite how annoying that is], which people tend to do). Everything is still done consensually, even though it's not crystal clear. No characters are forced into doing something they don't want to do (there's a difference between being cruel and forcing someone and aggravating someone and pushing their limits - more on this later, as it will be seen between the main character and the male lead). It also follows the concept of a cat-and-mouse relationship which is "a contrived action involving constant pursuit, near captures, and repeated escapes". It's the idea of predator versus prey, hunter versus hunted. The main character is being hunted by the male lead, but in some way, it’s also the main character hunting the male lead. This in term expands on that dark romance aspect.
Throughout Under Broken Stars, there will be other key characters who will be playing an important role this novel. These characters are important as they tie indirectly or even directly to the main character and/or the male lead (more on this later). So, I suppose this story does have multiple point of views, but the main character is the main character for a reason, as this story is about him and the male lead.
If something does not make sense when reading this story, please let me know. I can expand on it in later episodes or even later chapters or explain about it in the comments. I do appreciate it when I have comments because I do read every single one, and I like to know what your opinions and your thoughts are. Please like the episodes too, as this makes me really happy as a writer and it does motivate me to write.
Side note: I don't want to be hated for this (because of all the heavy and dark topics that this story will be covering). If this isn't your style, then please don't read it. But if this is your cup of tea, cool! I hope you enjoy it and if you know other people who like this type of dark fantasy, dark romance, morally gray characters type of read, please recommend my story to them! It would mean a lot to me.
Continuing on what this story also covers: it covers mental illnesses, extreme paranoia, and sick obsession, so if these topics are sensitive to you, don't read this just to comment bad things. I have warned you beforehand and will continue mentioning this as the story progresses, specifically in the description box below or even as a trigger warning (TW) or content warning (CW).
I also want to mention that this is a retelling of the classical Brother Grimms’ fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood with several twists. Those twists are that it is a BL, mature, and very, very dark (hence the dark fantasy and dark romance aspect and tags). Does it follow Riding Hood's traditional plotline? No, not really. But are there elements of it? Yes, there are. It is somewhat in between the lines or subtle aspects that I mention throughout this story.
I hope when reading this story, it’ll be an interesting read that will capture your attention, and I can explore these dark elements of fantasy.
Thank you to any current and future readers who read this story. Feel free to check out my other stories https://tapas.io/series/Lycanthrope/info (my popular one and longest one I have so far), https://tapas.io/series/Fathers-Rifle/info, and https://tapas.io/series/Be-My-Light/info. It would mean a lot to me if you could check these out and give them a read. If you like them, please consider subscribing to them and liking the episodes! (Those stories aren’t abandoned—sure, it’s been a while since I’ve updated them, but I promise you, I will update them soon! I enjoy writing those stories).
Anyways, I hope you grow to enjoy the main character and the male lead of this new story, Under Broken Stars!
Finally, I do want to add one more thing to clarify any confusion because this will probably leave people wondering. Cherie is a male, biologically born male. He’s always been a male and he isn’t trans or whatnot (I am not against trans people, also adding this. I have trans characters and I’m trans myself. Cherie is just a biological man with a typically female name). I understand that Cherie is a female name, but I wanted Cherie to have a feminized name, mostly to counter his strange actions and behaviors.
Well, that’s all I have to say. Happy reading and please subscribe and like this story! Thank you, everyone!

Information about this story:
This story, as mentioned, is a dark fantasy. The timeline is set roughly late 19th century in a fantasy American (specifically, United States) world. Is it accurate, no. There are elements relating to the late 19th century. Clothing, religion, technology, etc. But then again, it's not entirely accurate. I apologize. I'm trying my best to do my research. Think of it as a weird collage between the 19th century and some sort of futuristic 21st century combined. I apologize if this makes no sense. It's a fantasy novel. Please don't take the timeline/era seriously. Thank you to all of my readers. It means a lot. Please feel free to comment - I'd love to read your comments.
Finally, just putting the description of this story here as well:
MATURE | 18+ audience
What if the predator was the prey?
Cherie Hodge and his late family were wolf hunters. They were the best at it,
that was, until Mr. and Mrs. Hodge were killed by a wolf. Ironic, isn't it? So,
Cherie lived with his grandmother in a small village. Everyone knew each other
in the village. They were happy. Mostly. But there was an issue: there was a
wolf in the forest. The wolf was a bloodthirsty animal, hunger insatiable. It
craved the flesh of the villagers, especially children. Even the hunters
couldn't kill the wolf, as the wolf was too powerful, too strong, too fast, and
much too smart for anyone to get.
Despite Cherie's grandmother warning him to steer clear of the feral beast, something about the wolf's predatory habits lured the young man closer to the beast. Maybe it was the blood, maybe it was the fangs. Or maybe, just maybe, it was those moon-silver eyes.
Cherie wasn't afraid of the wolf like the others. He wanted to be near, edging the forest much past curfew, just to see a glimpse of dark fur darting between the ensnared trees.
The villagers pleaded with Cherie to avoid the dangers that lurked deep in the forest, but he didn't care. He loved the feeling of the wolf watching him; he basked in the wolf's demonic attention. A cat and mouse game, a tug and pull. He couldn't get enough of it - he wanted more. Just a taste for a shameful, sinful night, to break free of the choking chains of what was right and what was wrong. To just feel alive even if it meant his life on the line.
He didn't care that the others thought of him sick in the head with a perverted, morbid obsession with hybrid wolves, like the one in the forest. He didn't bother running, knowing the wolf could easily catch up with him. But sometimes he ran for the thrill of it just to be pinned down against the earth.
Cherie was delusional, but he loved it.
In fact, chasing the wolf allowed him to finally delve into darker, more sinister thoughts.
