RoaR#1
“In the beginning there was only stone and then came two hands.” That’s what Roar tells anyone that asks him where he came from. And when asked how long he was there he simply answers “I don’t know” simply because he doesn’t know how to count and cannot recount the years that he spent there. Oh, but he wasn’t alone for his friend was with him. The stone.
A barbarian was sitting on a makeshift stone chair in his cave. He was very built, tall and strong looking and had long black hair and a strong jaw with rugged features. he looked like he is in his twenties. He had a very big sword made of stone that was very dull and poorly made. He was using a loin cloth to cover himself with and had a strap made of leather to fasten his big sword to his back. He had a necklace of bones around his neck and he always carried his stone with him as well. It was hidden in a leather pouch on his side that he made especially for it. On the wall behind him there were some characters that were carved into it that read ‘RoaR’.
“I’m tired of this place.” Exclaimed Roar while playing with the stone in his hand.
“I want to see new stuff, bigger stuff.” He got up and looked at the exit of the cave that he had been calling home for who knows how long. He started walking towards the exit while muttering to himself” This is going to be FUN!” while smiling.
20 days later he found himself lost in a faraway forest, very hungry because he hadn’t found anything to hunt in the last 20 days.
“This isn’t as fun as I thought” exclaimed the distraught Roar as he was stumbling about in the forest tired and hungry. He had tried to find creatures to hunt but to no avail. And seeing that he is weaker than usual for not eating for a long time he was feeling down.
Suddenly he heard some rustling noises in the distance and saw a very fast shadow that was moving in between the trees. Roar’s eyes lit up when he saw that creature.” food!?” muttered the hungry Roar and then he ran after the said creature trying to find it by smell.” I haven’t smelled anything like this one before. And I like it!”. He got even more excited and sped up even more.
Following that creature had become his goal. He had followed the smell to a cave.” Now’s my chance it can’t escape anymore.” Excited that the creature is trapped he entered the cave after it.
The cave was very dark and gloomy and barely any light was present in it. But Roar was accustomed to the cave lifestyle and just followed his nose and instincts to get to his prey. As he felt that he was close to it he found a rock and hid behind it, waiting for the best opportunity to attack his prey. As Roar was waiting for his opportunity, he suddenly jerked his head towards the stone that he had with him and tried to whisper as quietly as he could.” Shhh it’s gonna hear us!”. But that wasn’t as quiet as he had hoped for, for the cave amplifies all sounds and the creature was alarmed.
The creature looked back and yelled “Who is it?!!” with fear. Roar was so surprised that he could understand what was said that he stood up and became visible just to see what was going on.
The creature turned out to be an elf ranger with green clothing and cyan eyes with a golden bow that had an inscription on it. she had her bow drawn and was preparing to fire but did not as she saw the disgusted face of a barbarian that was looking at her.” What’s with that face? Why are you following me?”. Shouted the elf. In her head she was surprised because that was the first time anyone had made such a disgusted face at her, for she was very confident in her looks.
“I Can’t eat …” Roar looked at the stone and nodded and continued “her.”.
“What you mean eat? You want to eat me?” said the elf as she was even more cautious.
“Not anymore.”. Roar had an even more disgusted face.
Having heard what the barbarian had said she was even more confused at the situation because she hadn’t experienced any situation like this before. Before she could say anything more, she was interrupted by Roar.
“What are you?” Roar was looking on confused. He had never seen any creature that could talk. Let alone something that smelled good and looked like her.
“Haven’t you seen an elf before? have you been living in a cave?” the elf looked confused at his question. It seemed like he doesn’t even know what she is.
“Damn, I heard that there were others that could talk but I did not think I would find one so fast.” Roar was happy to find someone else that can talk. “Cave? aren’t you living in one as well?” he made a gesture showing around the cave.
The elf was triggered and she grit her teeth.” No! I don’t live in here. Why would I?”
“Why not? it is a pretty nice cave. So then why are you here? is there anything to hunt here?”
“Hunt? Why? Who told you?” asked the confused Elf but she was greeted by the sound of his growling stomach that almost shook the cave.
“My stomach demon is angry.” Stated Roar as he was very hungry.
“Stomach demon?” asked the elf.
“You know when your stomach demon demands food and growls!”
The elf thought to herself that there is no way that someone this dumb exists so she was wary of his intentions and wanted to find out what his goal was so she tried casting a skill on him to determine his intent and goal.
“Show Intent” shouted the elf as a bright light shone on the barbarian and a big word appeared. “MEAT?!!!” the elf was surprised.” Is that all that you are thinking of?”
“How do you know? Can you hear my thoughts?” said Roar as his stomach growled again. “Calm down stomach demon. Calm down.”.
The elf was just looking at him but this time she wasn’t as cautious simply because the barbarian in front of her didn’t give off any sense of threat to her. So, she felt pity for him and loosened her drawn bow. “I don’t have food on me right now but there are creatures in this dungeon that can be eaten. if you want, I can help you hunt some.”
“Food!?” Roar was excited so he went running in and did not care for anything else.
The elf was surprised at his reaction and ran after him.” It’s a very deadly dungeon!! Wait!”
