What if I told you witches are real! Well they are, I mean no one knows but they’re real. There are four witches schools, they represent the four elements. Apparently it’s because the last four elemental witches created them. The number one school is Ms. Fires School for Girls. Ironically, the headmistress’s name isn't Ms. Fire.
The elemental witches went extinct, but as I said before the last few made witches schools. Originally, there were tons of elemental witches and they were able to control all the elements. They started dying off and then there were only witches who could control one element. And then they died as well, so there were just normal witches then.
I should probably explain, I didn’t know I was a witch, but my family did. So they sent me to a witches boarding school without telling me I was a witch. Yay, parents are so smart. I’m being sarcastic, my parents are stupid, hooray!
Anyways, I got there, and the school was massive. It was the biggest building I had ever seen in my life, it was also right by the city where I lived. I mean, how did I never notice it before, it was right there! It was basically Bowser's Castle, except not evil and scary. The school had a 15 mile radius, the actual campus though, was only about six miles in all. The rest is all forest, training area, and such.
When I was finally somewhere near the door, someone stopped me with a yell, “Ahh, outta the way, shorty!!” I swiveled on my heel to see someone flying on a broomstick. An actual broomstick! I rolled out of the way, and she crashed to the ground.
“Bro what the fuck?!” I questioned loudly, “Were you flying?!”
She stood up, brushing herself off, “Yeah of course it was, how else was I supposed to get here?” she asked, like it was obvious. She had long brown hair, dyed with various colors. Blue, pink, green, red, purple, essentially the whole rainbow. She was wearing leggings, and a sweatshirt, her attire really didn’t fit the cold weather of this drab city. Her eyes were bright blue, not matching her hair in any way. She had an american accent, but I had a british accent, seeing as we were in England.
“In a car, like a normal person! Also flying is supposed to be impossible!”
“Huh, what’re you talking about? All witches can fly, on brooms yes, but flying all the same.” she scoffed, “Did you come in a car, because you should’ve come on a broom, this is a school for witches after all.”
“Haha, you must be crazy, cause I ain’t a witch and ya know they’re not real.” I chuckled nervously.
“Well if you’re here, then you’re a witch.” She said walking over and helping me up.
“You must be joking,” I pulled out my phone to call my parents and corroborate my new acquaintances story. “Hey mom, you sent me to a school, but this girl says it’s for witches.”
‘Oh dear, did I forget to tell you you’re a witch? Well, you’re a witch! Have fun!’ She grinned over the phone before hanging up without any more information.
“What, hey!”
After this revelation, I decided to just go with it, because there was nowhere else I could go. I was supposed to be here for four years, and my family had already moved to America and sold the house. I was stuck.
The opening ceremony was pretty boring, it was being held outside and all the teachers were sitting at the end of the field. The girl who almost crashed into me, her name is Sylvia. She and I are both first years, except that we’re both 15. My parents said that it’s just what the school wanted. Sylvia has already been working as a witch her whole life. Along with everyone else in the school, everyone except me, which is bullshit.
“Okay ladies, please come up to the front for your room assignments.” The headmistress said, I walked up to the front desk.
“Ah, the fake witch.” The lady next to her groaned. The headmistress had curly gray hair, and a warm smile. Her smile was extremely infectious, I assume that’s why she decided to become a principal. Unlike her counterpart, the vice headmistress looked sad. Although she put out an external aura of rage, I think she was just lonely.
“Don’t say things like that, Ms. Delilah.” the headmistress ordered. “You were a late addition, so you’ll be staying in the second year dorms.” I nodded, “Here’s your class schedule.” She handed me a blank sheet of paper.
“Uh, ma’am?” She looked up from her binder, “This sheet is blank.” Everyone went dead silent and started at me, “What? Ther-” I was cut off.
“So sorry about her, I’ll handle this.” Sylvia offered, dragging me away from the table. She pulled me away from everyone, “Stupid, you have to do a spell.” She explained.
“Oh, right cause that makes soooo much sense.” I agreed sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
“Look just put your hand above it and say, ‘This is an order, show me the secrets this paper holds.’.” She instructed. A small green glimmer appeared before the page started to show words.
I nodded, holding my hand above my paper, “This is an order, show me the secrets this paper holds.” I ordered. The paper glimmered but then exploded green. The paper was fine, but I heard a yell.
“Who revealed all the schedules?!” The Vice Headmistress yelled. I raised my hand with an awkward laugh. Ms. Commerce, the head mistress, gave Ms. Delilah a look. Ms. Delilah wiggled her finger at me, “Did you know that you could do that?” She questioned.
“Do you think that I knew? Cause I didn’t even know witches were real until about 15 minutes ago.” She gave me a look of annoyance, “Look if I had known… Nah I probably would have made things go boom anyway.” Ms. Commerce calmed Ms. Delilah down with a chuckle.
“Concord, what’s your last name?” She asked.
“Lance, but I don’t know my real one, I’m adopted.” I explained.
“Well why don’t you go to your dorm room and unpack, then go to class.” She instructed.
“Sure,” I walked back over to Sylvia, everyone staring me down. I grabbed my duffle bag and backpack, and shuffled around until I found my room.
